The 2 puppies we seperated, Lark and Chickadee, are doing good. They definitely miss mama, but the stuff horse is helping.
Their gums are still pale, but we got the hundreds of fleas off them which will help. They have also been dewormed and while that is a scene from a horror movie, the babies are finally getting healthy.

Hopefully they will go back to mama in a few days.

Sometimes when we offer to help, we don't know how dire the situation is until afterwards. We offered to help take in a few puppies. Later we realized the puppies were only 5 weeks old and asked about the mama. The woman was willing to give us the mama and later we found out there was another puppy. So today, we thought we were getting 5 puppies and a mama.
Once our transporter arrived, she found out that originally there were 7 puppies! I died, and the woman was keeping 2 to give to someone. She begged and pleaded for the puppies to stay with mama, but they would not give up the dogs. We found out that mama had 5 litters to date! Poor girl is exhausted. Our transporter said it was horrible conditions for dogs and humans. All the puppies and mama were covered with fleas. We spent 2 hours bathing and flea combing trying to get them all off. 2 of the puppies had white gums when they arrived, probably from fleas and intestinal parasites. We have seperated them from the mama to monitor and watch for hypoglycemia. Mama is a little aggressive towards the pups with food, apparently they were feeding her cheap Walmart kibble (equal to eating Fruit Loops every day as all your meals).
We are hopeful that these dogs will be okay. At least they are clean and safe and away from the irresponsible pet owners/backyard breeders. We can only pray the 2 puppies she would not surrender get the help they need.

We were told mama is named Birdie, so we named her babies after birds. She is a good mama, and we are happy that this will be her last litter. We believe she is a long hair chiweenie (papa looked like a chihuahua/terrier). We will continue to update on their health.

All dogs will need to be fully vetted before they go up for adoption. We assume mama is HW positive, but won't know for sure until she is vetted. They need medication, food and supplies. Please help us by donating.

We are a 501c3 nonprofit which means all donations are tax deductible. And 100% of donations go to animals in need since we are volunteer run.

Dwight is looking for his forever home.
He may be a senior but he sure doesn't act like one. He loves to be outside running and playing. He is friendly and social and gets along with dogs and cats.
He is neutered, microchiped, vaccinated, and HW negative.
We believe he is a Lhasa Apso, he weighs 18lbs.
Located in Dallas, TX

Jorge, the dog dumped off Dowdy Ferry Rd this morning was just picked up by a Dallas Animal Services and is now evidence in an animal cruelty investigation. There is video of someone dumping him. The police and DAS will hopefully work together to make an arrest and give Jorge the justice he deserves.

We gave him a bath and flea meds this morning because he was raw from scratching. He was the happiest and sweetest boy. It just sickens us to know how poorly he was treated.

Thank you to Dowdy Ferry Animal Commission for setting up cameras.

UPDATE #2: There is video of someone dumping the dog this morning. They have his license plate on video as well. Animal cruelty unit will have to investigate. We are waiting to hear what to do with the dog.

UPDATE: His name is Jeorge
He is a wire terrier born 2015.
He was registered with one company in 2021. They do not want their name or information released. Then in 2022 he was registered with another company. The email and phone number for those people do not work.
The last person to own him lives in OakCliff.
Hopefully Dowdy Ferry Animal Commission has video of him being dumped.

ORIGINAL POST:
Same spot off Dowdy we have found hundreds of dumped animals, we found this guy this morning.
He is a happy boy, but has some hairloss and raw looking skin (probably from fleas, maybe mange).

He is microchiped. 🤞
We will update once we know more.

This little guy had an 11am deadline today before he was euthanized. Apparently his back legs aren't working too well. We just couldn't let him die. When we went to pick him up from the shelter, they gave us his bear and said he cuddles it and sleeps with it. 🥰
I think we made the right choice in saving him.
