A few hours with these pups earlier this week filled our hearts right up. 🐾🧡

Thank you to the Humane Society of Concord & Greater Cabarrus County for welcoming us and trusting us to spend time with the dogs in your care. We’re grateful for the work you do every day and the chance to be a small part of it.

During these visits, we aren’t tracking miles or speed. We’re giving each pup time to explore something new, move at their own pace, and enjoy plenty of encouragement, attention, and love. Sometimes that looks like running. Sometimes it looks like taking a break for extra head scratches.

And apparently, sometimes it means climbing into the driver’s seat. Several pups were ready to take over Jason’s job during this week’s visit. 😂

To everyone who contributes to our Run Fund, thank you for helping us provide these sessions at no cost to the shelter. Your support makes moments like these possible, and we’re so grateful. 🧡

🎉 Introducing Run Free’s October Pup of the Month… BLUE! 🎉

Blue is a 9-year-old Pittie who clearly didn’t get the memo that he’s supposed to be slowing down. 😂 This happy boy still has plenty of energy and absolutely loves getting his body moving!

Blue is always so much fun to spend time with, and honestly… just look at that smile. 🥹🧡

Congratulations, Blue! We’re so happy to have you as part of the Run Free family and even happier to crown you our October Pup of the Month! 🎉🐾

Everybody show Blue some love!

The Run Free van is heading to the Pints, Pups & Heroes Festival this Saturday!

We’re proud to support Carolinas First Responder Alliance and celebrate the first responders who show up for our community everyday! There’ll be live music, food trucks, vendors, a kid zone, and dogs available for adoption. You know we’re especially excited about that last part. 🐾

📍 Bojangles Coliseum, Charlotte
🗓️ Saturday, September 26
⏰ 10 AM–3 PM

If you make it out, stop by and say hi.

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the countless heroes who answered the call in the hours, days and months that followed.

Among them were the remarkable search-and-rescue dogs who worked alongside their handlers through unimaginable conditions, searching the rubble and helping bring answers to families. Therapy dogs also offered comfort and companionship to exhausted first responders and grieving communities.

Their courage, loyalty and service will never be forgotten.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

If dogs could text, we have a feeling a few of you would be getting this exact message. 😂

When the toys aren’t cutting it and the zoomies are taking over, a Run Free session gives your pup a safe, structured way to move, burn energy and have some serious fun. 🐾

Book their first run (or next run) today!

🎉 Introducing Run Free’s very first Pup of the Month! 🎉

Congratulations to Axel, our September Pup of the Month! 🐾

Axel is an almost 12-year-old Boston Terrier living in Concord, NC. We’ve known this handsome guy for years, and he was also one of Run Free’s very first clients—taking his first run with us on October 23, 2025!

Axel may be a senior pup, but he still shows up ready to move those little legs and make the most of every run. He’s a wonderful reminder that exercise doesn’t have to look the same for every dog. It’s all about giving each pup a safe, comfortable way to move at their own pace.

We couldn’t think of a more deserving dog to kick off this new tradition.

Congratulations, Axel! We’re so happy you’re part of the Run Free family. 💙🐾

For a shelter pup, time in the Run Free van is about so much more than exercise. 🧡

Today we spent about four hours loving on dogs, handing out plenty of treats, and giving them the chance to experience something brand new as they tried the slatmill.

But maybe the best part? For a little while, they got to step away from shelter life and just be dogs. Jason may prefer to stay behind the camera, but Milkdud had other plans. 😂

New smells. New people. New experiences. Lots of love. And a whole lot of “good boy!” and “good girl!” We love cheering them on!

We may be there to give them a chance to run, but these days always end up meaning so much more to us than miles per hour or distance ran. Thank you for inviting us out today, we can’t wait to come back!

We got to meet sweet Lainey today when she tried the slatmill! She’s down for almost any adventure and is available for adoption from our friends at You and Me Furever! Thanks to Woof Gang Bakery Plaza Midwood for inviting us out to the summer bash!
