🎡🐾 Come see me at the Minnesota State Fair!

Every year I look forward to volunteering at the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) Surgery Center, where I’ll be moderating the 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM surgeries!

For 50 years, the MVMA has been bringing veterinary education to the Minnesota State Fair, and the Surgery Center itself is celebrating 34 years of giving fairgoers a unique, behind-the-scenes look at veterinary medicine.

During the Surgery Center demonstrations, visitors can watch a dog or cat spay surgery live while learning about the procedure, anesthesia, patient monitoring, recovery, and the roles of the veterinary professionals caring for the patient.

Education is incredibly important to me. I believe that helping people understand what we do—and why we do it—is an important part of being a veterinarian. I also love opportunities like this that allow kids and adults to see veterinary medicine up close and perhaps inspire a future veterinarian or veterinary technician. 🩺🐶🐱

If you’re at the State Fair, stop by the MVMA Surgery Center for the 2:00 or 4:00 PM surgery and say hello! I’d love to see some familiar faces while I’m there. The CHS Miracle of Birth Center is also a must see area! Last year, my volunteering led me to welcoming newborn piglets into the world!

Today feels like a pretty big day. ❤️

Our Cedar Ridge Veterinary Clinic sign is going up!

I’ll admit, I’m a little emotional watching it happen. For so long, this clinic has existed as an idea, a plan, a set of drawings, endless decisions, construction projects, spreadsheets, and a whole lot of “someday.”

Seeing our name actually go up on the building makes it all feel very real.

There is still work to be done before we can open the doors, but today we are one big step closer to welcoming patients into Cedar Ridge Veterinary Clinic. 🐾

I am incredibly excited to get back to doing what I love most—caring for pets and the people who love them—and to finally share this place with our community.

The sign is going up. The clinic is coming together. And soon, there will be dogs and cats walking through these doors. ❤️

Construction Update!

It’s exciting to see Cedar Ridge Veterinary Clinic taking shape!

One of the things we’re most proud of is giving new life to a building that has been part of our community since the 1940s. Throughout construction we’ve worked hard to preserve many of its unique features, including the original polished concrete floors and beautiful skylights, while transforming it into a modern veterinary hospital.

When our doors open, we’ll be providing comprehensive care for dogs and cats, including wellness exams, vaccinations, surgery, dentistry, and daytime urgent care. We can’t wait to welcome your furry family members.

As anyone who has renovated an older building knows, every wall seems to have a story—and occasionally a surprise! Those unexpected discoveries have added some time to construction, so our original opening timeline has shifted. We are now planning for a soft opening in September 2026, with a full opening to follow shortly after.

Thank you for your patience, encouragement, and excitement throughout this journey. Every week brings us one step closer, and we can’t wait to share more updates with you!

• Reusable rubber gloves

(Not required — just a way to spread a little extra good!)

🐶 Please keep pets leashed while waiting.
🏡 Follow the side walk to the greenhouse back door (rear of the building facing the apartment building or towards the hospital).
📝 We will have a waiver for you to sign, giving authorization for us to use your pets photos in our local advertising, website, and a chance to be featured ON the building!
🐱 Indoor event — snow or clouds, we are here!

Exciting News!
I am thrilled to announce that I will be opening a full-service veterinary clinic in Mankato! Cedar Ridge Veterinary Clinic will open doors in late spring to early summer 2026!
We are excited to grow into the old Hilltop Florist building at 885 Madison Ave, Mankato.

We will provide high-quality care for your dogs and cats. From wellness visits all the way to a local surgery center, providing procedures ranging from spays, neuters, dental cleanings, and extractions to more complex procedures, we will be here to support your pet's health every step of the way!

We can't wait to meet you and your furry family members! Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to opening day and an exciting opportunity to have YOUR PET featured in our local advertising!
