Beau update ❤️ If you don't remember, Beau came to us back in December 2025. He was the most fearful dog we have encountered at Madison. He was lucky enough to be adopted in February. We get monthly updates but this last update was the best one yet..... Beau has started running and rolling in the grass, playing with toys, comfortable enough to get on the couch for snuggle time and has barked for the first time. All these accomplishments couldn't have been done without the family that gave him a chance and has been so patient and loving with him.

Finally got some updated pictures of Satchmo since he has been back at Madison. Satchmo is a big sweetheart but unfortunately his tail becomes a weapon when he is happy. AND HE IS ALWAYS HAPPY. Great manners, great walking on a leash. It's not very often we know the story behind our dogs but we do know Satchmo was found on a Indian reservation chasing horses. So chickens, goats, etc probably would not be the best idea. Satchmo means "Big Mouth" and he does have a big mouth with big teeth. With that, his size and his tail of mass destruction he will do best with a family with no small children. Definitely can see Satch hanging out in a mancave, riding shootgun in a truck and chilling with his best friend at their favorite fishing hole 😉 If you are interested in a meet and greet with Satchmo please call (850)973-5583.

Water dogs? Yeah we have a couple. Rip and Monica absolutely love the water and roll and play til their hearts are content. Satchmo will get in the water but doesn't do any rolling and playing. Lyndon will play if he has a buddy to play in it with him but other than that he will steer clear of it.

Confession time............. sometimes I can't tell Rip and Monica apart. Even their personalities are similar. Rip and Monica are about 10 months old Dutch Shepard mix and are the perfect addition to any family! They are great with people and other dogs, learns quickly and just adorable. I feel behind on the BARK gossip. Charlie has been with us for 2 weeks and I haven't introduced him yet. Meet Charlie, our 2 year old Shepard mix. It's not in his paperwork but if you meet him you can definitely tell he has some Great Dane in there. His bark is as big as he is but deep down he is a big scary cat. He definitely needs work and we will work our hardest to get there. For now Charlie will do best with a family with no small children due to his size.
