‼️Important Update Regarding Our Large Animal Services‼️
In order to serve all of our patients and clients better, effective August 1, 2026 we are discontinuing our Large Animal Services Practice. This includes horses, cattle, sheep, goats and pigs. This does not affect our Small Animal practice. The increased demands of our Small Animal patient load have made it very difficult to serve your Large Animals in a timely manner. This has resulted in not only extended delays in our response time, but in many cases made us unable to help them at all–for this we sincerely apologize.
Fortunately, we have been able to coordinate with Dr. E. Anne Williams of Suwannee Mobile Veterinary Services, who has advised that she is available and willing to accept new Large Animal clients. Dr. Williams earned her DVM from UF in 2007, is a US Army veteran with family roots in Suwannee County, has practiced all over the world and is passionate about Large Animal veterinary care. Her Large Animal mobile practice which does NOT SEE DOGS, CATS OR PET BIRDS, can be contacted at 386-361-1554 or on her website at: www.suwanneemobilevet.com.
During the 45-day period following the date of this letter, we will remain available to provide Large Animal veterinary care for current clients and patients to the extent we are reasonably able to do so. However, after August 1, 2026, we will no longer provide routine, urgent, or emergency Large Animal services. We encourage you to use this transition period to establish care with Dr. Williams.
You are, of course, free to select Dr. Williams or any other veterinarian of your choice. We will need your written permission to release your records to Dr. Williams or whomever you choose, so at your earliest convenience, please contact our front desk team at 850-973-6936 to arrange for copies of your animals’ medical records. You may pick these up at our office in person, have them mailed or e-mailed to you or have them sent to Dr. Williams or another veterinarian of your choice.
Please understand this was not a decision made lightly or with disregard for your animals, but rather thoughtfully and meticulously made for the benefit of all of our large animal patients and clients. It is our belief that this will provide our patients with better, more timely and efficient Large Animal care. Dr. Williams is a highly regarded and experienced Veterinary practitioner who will care for you and your animals in the manner in which you have become accustomed, but on a timelier schedule.
We sincerely thank you for your many years of patronage and friendship and cherish the memories of working with you - we will be forever grateful for the almost 70 collective years of allowing us to help you and our patients to the best of our ability. We are, of course, still here to serve the needs of your Small Animals (cats and dogs) in what we earnestly feel will be a more attentive and efficient manner.
Sincerely,
John C. Lewis, DVM
Darren W. Baxley, DVM
