We are LIVE 🎉

Shmoop didn’t happen overnight.

About eight years ago, I started dreaming about creating a product line of my own.

I was deep in the world of grooming and learning everything I could about skin, coat, hydration, and what actually makes a dog feel good in their skin. My teacher Michelle Knowles would eventually become my guide for how we formulate Shmoop.

The more I learned, the more I realized there was so much room to do things better.

The products I was using weren’t made by groomers. And I kept thinking, what would I make if I could start from scratch?

But I wasn’t ready yet.

I wanted to build the salon first, get that in a stable place and then go for it.

And eight years later, Shmoop is finally here.

We’re starting with something I know very, very well: the brush out.

The Shmoop Brush Out Kit is our first little beauty ritual for dogs:

When I had this idea I thought it was impossible. One company quoted me $100,000 to make it!!! Oh nooonieeeeee. I kept trying, asking, thinking, figuring out.

The love brush has finally arrived.

What a long journey it’s been to create this gorgeous tool.

Before there were canoodle-ready coats and kiss-worthy curls, there was a garage, a blow dryer, and Jess Rona filming slo-mo videos of dogs.

But Jess had a vision.

She thought to herself: Shouldn’t a dog grooming product line be developed
by someone who’s spent their life grooming dogs? 🤔

So, she made her own.

She grabbed pet esthetician Michelle Knowle’s hand, and together they put on their lab coats and got to work.
(The coats were just jackets with Labradores all over them).

The result is a new beauty department created by a person who has devoted her life to the art of the glamorous dog.

So next time you’re out on your daily stroll, let that Schnauzer up the street turn his head and notice your shiny coat flowing.
