The Rescue Train

The Rescue Train The Rescue Train’s deep-rooted goals are to be a voice for animals and to help save as many lives as possible.

The Rescue Train is a unique, non-profit 501(c)(3) no-kill organization dedicated to eliminating animal suffering and euthanasia through hands-on rescue work, education and awareness. We fulfill our mission through our key initiatives: rescue and rehome, shelter intervention, dedication to spay and neuter, and collaboration with other like-minded organizations. We aim to drastically reduce the num

ber of animals entering kill shelters and animals living on the streets of Los Angeles. Many of our life-saving programs help lay a foundation of lasting change through community outreach and celebrate the human-animal bond. Our Shelter intervention Program and Pet Pantry prevent animals from entering Los Angeles City shelters by providing resources to low income, senior citizens, veterans and homeless pet owners. We offer free spay and neuter to help solve pet overpopulation at the root of the problem. Our Pet Care Clinics go into areas of poverty to provide resources that includes vaccines, grooming, referrals to vet care, pet food and supplies.

Fixing pets saves lives. Let’s do it together. 🐾❤️

Ruby jumped aboard The Rescue Train’s Snip Ship yesterday because her dad is a responsible PAWrent and wanted to make sure she is fixed and fabulous! 💖🐾

This 5-month-old princess is now set up to live her best life - healthy, happy, and helping prevent unwanted litters before they start. That’s what responsible pet parenting is all about!

Every spay/neuter surgery helps reduce overcrowding in shelters and creates a brighter future for animals in our community. We fixed 33 in one day!

A huge thank you to our incredible partners BISSELL Pet Foundation and Fixer Fixers for helping make more tails wag and more ifesaving surgeries possible.

🐾 TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK FOR THIS GENTLE SOUL 💛

This adorable 5-month-old Basset Hound mix came to The Rescue Train’s mobile spay/neuter clinic yesterday, where our veterinary team discovered he has a heart murmur during his pre-surgery exam.

Through absolutely no fault of his own, this sweet puppy was surrendered by his owner - but the rescue community immediately sprang into action. Three rescues came together (The Rescue Train, Whiskers Inc & Animal World Foundation) to help find him a foster home and help cover the costs of the veterinary care he needs, including a cardiology consult. 🩺🐶

There is something incredibly special about this little guy. He has the sweetest, gentlest soul. 💛 We can’t wait for him to get the care he needs and be available for adoption soon into a loving forever home.

It truly takes a village. ✨

💔 DUMPED AND DESERVING SO MUCH BETTER 💔

Meet Martha… a precious young Bulldog girl who was abandoned on a property in Sun Valley with nowhere safe to go. 😢

This sweet girl is believed to be only around 2 years old and despite everything she’s been through, she remains incredibly loving, friendly, and gentle. Martha walks nicely on leash and gets along well with other dogs. 🐾

Martha deserves a soft place to land while she waits for the happy ending she’s been denied for far too long.

She has already been dewormed, is spayed, and is ready for someone to step up for her. Unfortunately, local Bulldog rescue groups are currently unable to take her due to a lack of available fosters.

PLEASE HELP US SHARE Martha far and wide to help her find either a foster or forever home. Bulldogs are such special souls and this beautiful girl deserves to finally know love, comfort, and safety again. ❤️

At The Rescue Train’s 🚂😻🐶Keep Your Pet Project, we know the heartbreak families feel when their beloved pet needs urgent medical care they can’t afford. Because pets are family — and no one wants to feel helpless when someone they love is suffering. ❤️

We try to be a small miracle during life’s hardest moments, walking beside families every step of the way.

Grayson came to us with a painful mass that needed surgery. Thanks to the compassion of one our partner Dr. Peyvand Silverman and the support of our amazing community, Grayson got the care he needed and is now back home with the family who loves him so much. 🐾

To Grayson and his family — may you enjoy many happy days together.

Thank you to our supporters for helping us keep pets with the people who love them.

THE CITY SHELTER IS NO PLACE FOR THIS BABY. 💔🐐🧈

Meet little Lil Butters… a precious 5-month-old baby goat with the sweetest face and a sad story. This innocent baby was found all alone in a park by the wash before ending up at East Valley Animal Shelter and later transferred to West Valley Shelter. No baby should begin life scared, sick, abandoned, and stressed out by the sound of barking dogs surrounding him.

The caring staff at West Valley reached out hoping we could help because Lil Butters is struggling with gastrointestinal issues and urgently needs rescue and veterinary care ASAP. But this is where compassion and team work changes everything. ✨

Our friends All Things Hooved Animal Rescue connected us with the sanctuary , who are willing to open their hearts and give Lil Butters 🧈 the safe, loving future he deserves… if we can get him there and cover his medical care. He’s even got some new goat friends waiting for him there!

OUR VILLAGE HAS GOT THIS. ❤️

Your donation will help cover:
