LA's Dog Trainer

LA's Dog Trainer LA's Dog Trainer provides private and group training for people and their dogs. The face of LA's Dog Trainer is Jacqueline Gaillard.

Behavior modification, better communication, overcoming fears and reactivity, workshops, pool safety and more. Jacqueline has used her expertise in dog training to give back to the community by volunteering for the East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys, CA. She trains dogs that would otherwise be killed because they keep getting passed by for other younger, calmer dogs. Many of these dogs' only f

ault is that they are too exuberant and previous owners didn't know how to handle them so they ended up at the shelter. Working with dogs that need a little extra attention and that require someone with a deep understanding of animal behavior and motivation is Jacqueline's specialty. With her CGC Evaluator credential, Jacqueline knows what it takes for a dog to be a "Good Citizen" in the home and out in public. In order to obtain her degrees, she had to work with numerous other species at school and other animal parks. Having completed externships at the San Diego Wild Animal Park, Los Angeles Zoo, and Santa Barbara Zoo she has used her knowledge of training wild animals to train the easier species, the dog. Jacqueline also volunteers a few days a month at the Wildlife Waystation in the Angeles National Forest. This allows her to keep in touch with the wilder species and benefit from deepening her experience in Animal Behavior and Management. The common thread in training all these animals, including dogs, is that they respond very well to positive reinforcement training. A great example is that you cannot pull the dominance game with the Tiger. How do you think that training session would end?

Desensitization is a part of our Puppy Great Start class ๐Ÿ•

Pups are sometimes nervous or afraid of everyday items like vacuums, skateboards ๐Ÿ›น, umbrellas โ˜‚๏ธ and more. To help your pup get comfortable around objects such as these, we suggest you start with slow, calm sessions. Let them explore the item on their terms, giving them treats and praise for every brave moment ๐Ÿ’–

With patience and consistency, your pup will learn that everyday objects aren't so scary anymore โœจ

New sessions of Puppy Great Start begin soon! Classes are Saturdays at 10am or Wednesdays at 6:30pm, both at our studio in Studio City. Sign up to save your spot LAsDogTrainer.com

Unbe-WEAVE-able ๐Ÿถ

Think your dog needs to be naturally athletic to do Agility with us? Think again ๐Ÿพ

Most dogs don't walk into their first Agility class knowing what a tunnel is, how to weave between poles, or navigate jumps. They start out curious, distracted, sometimes confusedโ€” and it's all completely normal!

Agility isn't about having the fastest or most coordinated dog. It's about building communication, confidence, and teamwork. With patience, practice and plenty of rewards, you and your dog will learn together and make progress one obstacle at a time.

The best part is watching your pup go from "What am I supposed to do?!" to confidently tackling a course with you by their side ๐Ÿ’–

Ready to give it a try? New Agility sessions start soon! Sign up to snag your spot at LAsDogTrainer.com

Just two professionals exchanging LinkedIn profiles ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿถ

Dogs greet each other nose-first because scent gives them a ton of information, like are you male or female, are you spayed or neutered, do you have other pets at home, and much more. That little sniff circle might look silly to us, but it's actually polite dog communication and an important part of how they say hello.

These and other polite introductions happen weekly at our Puppy Socialization hour. If you are currently enrolled or have been in the past, you are eligible to attend Puppy Socialization Saturdays! Sign up at LAsDogTrainer.com or reach out to us with questions!

3 years ago: Casper was extremely fearful (had fear aggression) with people & dogs when I met him.
With lots of love and lots of continued training he has become more social; especially with the ladies (small female dogs).
Congratulations ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‰ You've come a long way baby!
