Maybe this is a very Gen X thing to say, but at a certain age, your knees and back start having opinions. 😂
I originally looked into an automatic litter box because I was tired of scooping every day. But after using one for a while, I realized the bigger benefit for me is actually not having to crouch down so much just to deal with the litter and waste bag.
And surprisingly, I’ve also started noticing how much some of the design seems to be made with the cat in mind.
The low entry makes it easier for smaller, short-legged, or less agile cats to get in and out. The inside also looks a lot roomier than you’d expect from the outside, and the more enclosed space gives them a little more privacy when they’re doing their business.
Safety was probably my biggest hesitation with an automatic litter box. I really didn’t want something that would start moving while a cat was nearby.
This one uses multiple sensors and is designed to stop when a cat approaches or puts weight on it, which gave me a lot more peace of mind. I also liked knowing the brand actually tests the product with cats before putting it out there.
Obviously, no litter box is going to be perfect for every cat or every household. But after using this one for a while, I can say I appreciate the little things more than I expected.
At this point in life, anything that saves my knees AND keeps the cats comfortable is a win in my book. 😂
