The teeth check: completely routine.
The patient: absolutely DEVASTATED. 🎭🐹😂

Our little lethal white sanctuary foster needs regular teeth checks as part of her ongoing care — and apparently today’s examination required a full dramatic performance.

We promise: no guinea pigs were harmed in the making of this Reel. 😂 She simply decided lying dramatically backward was the appropriate response to this terrible injustice.

This is also a little glimpse into sanctuary fostering. ❤️ Some animals with ongoing medical or special needs live with experienced fosters rather than at the rescue, where they can receive the regular monitoring, medications and hands-on care they need.

And sometimes that includes checking teeth while your patient acts like you’ve ruined her entire life. 😂🐹

Wait… if we don’t breed, where do all these BABIES come from?! 🐹👶❤️

Texas Rustlers does not breed animals — but sometimes guinea pigs arrive already pregnant. When they do, we give mom a safe place to have her babies and provide the food, housing, supplies, monitoring, and care that the whole little family needs. ❤️

Once the babies are old enough, they’re appropriately separated, and mom and babies can begin their journeys toward forever homes.

By taking these families into rescue and making sure everyone is properly separated before adoption, we’re also helping prevent another generation of unplanned litters and breaking that cycle. 🐹💙

And as ridiculously cute as all these tiny faces are… babies mean more mouths to feed, more supplies, more housing, and more care.
