🖤 A Goodbye to Our Sweet Marcie 🖤
The last few days have been emotionally exhausting, and this is one of the hardest updates we’ve had to share.
At the end of July, our beautiful little tortie kitten, Marcie, suddenly developed severe neurological symptoms. One moment she was playing and running around, and the next she went limp. She was purring, but unable to move. We truly didn’t know what was going to happen.
After several days hospitalized at the emergency vet, three antibiotics, around-the-clock care, and an incredible amount of determination from one tiny kitten, Marcie came home.
She was still wobbly, but she was eating, walking, purring, and fighting. She reminded us every single day just how strong she was. ❤️
Since then, Marcie had two more vet visits and required round-the-clock medications and care. We continued hoping and fighting alongside her, desperately wanting answers.
Early Thursday morning, our team had to make the heartbreaking decision to do what was best for Marcie.
Despite everything we tried, we still didn't have answers, and watching her continue to experience these indescribable episodes wasn't fair to her. We made the most loving decision we could and let our sweet girl go peacefully. 🖤
Please keep Marcie’s foster mama in your thoughts. She was the one who took Marcie to the vet and had to say that final goodbye yesterday. We know how deeply she loved this little girl and how hard she fought for her.

You were tiny, but your fight was enormous. You mattered. You were loved. You will never be forgotten. 🖤🐾
These are the moments people don't always see.
One of the hardest parts of rescue isn't just cleaning litter boxes, finding the perfect adopter, taking the best pictures for profiles, or dealing with the countless challenges that come with this work.
It's this.
It's the emergency vet visits.
It's the sleepless nights.
It's watching an animal you love struggle.
It's not having the answers you desperately want.
It's making impossible decisions.
It's knowing when continuing to fight isn't what is best for the animal anymore.
And it's having to make that final call and say goodbye.
We rescue because we believe every life matters. And sometimes loving them means fighting with everything we have. Sometimes, it means knowing when to let them rest.
Thank you to everyone who cheered Marcie on, donated, shared her story, checked on her, prayed for her, and loved her from near and far.
