Had a fun scare this morning at a service call. I’d just gotten set up to service a notoriously difficult RO unit (thanks city of Tampa!) when I heard that sound that freezes every one of us in our tracks - splattering water. I had everything open, including the filtration closet. Mind you, I’m half deaf as many know and only have one ear. I can’t locate the sound, nor could I find an overflow.

I grabbed a couple guys that work there in a panic - where’s the water?!? We all went through the system. My stuff is dry. Turns out someone rigged a pasta pan in the ceiling of the adjacent room to catch an AC drip and it just happened to let go as I was starting on the RO. No damage anywhere and no customers around. The tank is approaching 30 years so you never know…

BTW - the tank houses a blue tang that’s 32 or 33 years old - possibly the oldest in the country. It’s been in my care since 2008. The guy who’s been here as long as the fish is busy with the shop vac though…
