🐾 Lulu & Sammie are safe!

Lulu, a little terrier mix, and Sammie, a 3-year-old Toy Poodle, were trapped on the second floor of the Cobalt Apartments during the fire.

For more than FOUR HOURS, they were inside with the sprinklers pouring down before firefighters were able to rescue them through a second-floor window.

We are so thankful these two are safe and look how cute they were after their grooming appointments today! 🥹❤️

Their story is also a reminder to make an emergency plan for your pets:

🔥 Test your smoke alarms regularly
🐾 Keep a pet “go bag” with food, leashes, medications & essentials
📱 Update microchips & ID tags
🏠 Give a trusted neighbor/family member access to your pets if possible
🚨 Put a Pet Alert sticker near your entrance & keep it updated
🐕 Keep leashes/carriers somewhere easy to grab
📸 Keep current photos of your pets on your phone
🏨 Know where you could temporarily stay WITH your pets

Emergencies happen when we least expect them. Take 10 minutes this weekend to make sure your pet has a plan, too. ❤️

Kova survived the Cobalt apartment fire ❤️

When firefighters entered, they couldn’t find her…

She was hiding inside the dryer.

After hours of alarms, sprinklers, water, and chaos…

Kova was found safe. 🐾

She came to see us today, and we’re so grateful she’s still here with her family.

To our Cobalt neighbors: we’re here to help.
