💗 Meet Precious — a senior girl looking for a soft place to land. 💗

At 15 years old, Precious isn’t asking for much. She’s looking for a quiet, loving home, a cozy bed, plenty of wet food, and someone willing to give her the time she deserves to settle in.

Precious was surrendered to us after her previous home didn’t give her enough time to adjust. At her age, change can be especially difficult, and she deserves someone who understands that trust and comfort may take a little patience.

And one thing you should know about Precious: she has a lot to say! 😂 This sweet senior lady is wonderfully vocal and isn’t afraid to let you know when she wants something—or when she simply feels like having a conversation.

🐾 15 years young
💕 Sweet, vocal, and full of personality
💉 Up to date on vaccinations
✂️ Spayed
📍 Microchipped
🥣 Prefers wet food because she doesn’t have many teeth left
🛏️ Looking for a calm, comfortable retirement home
📍Located in Lake Stevens

Precious deserves a perfect home. She needs a patient one—someone willing to let her settle in at her own pace and give her a safe, soft place to spend her remaining years surrounded by love.

There will be a rehoming fee to help ensure she goes to a safe and committed home.

If you have room in your heart for a senior kitty who deserves one more beautiful chapter, please send us a message about Precious. 💗

Please share. Her person may be out there waiting for her.

Kitten season is in full swing!

✨️Spaying and neutering is one of the most effective ways to protect cats and reduce the number of homeless kittens in our community. ✨️

🐈‍⬛️Unaltered cats can reproduce quickly, especially during warmer months. This often leads to kittens being born outdoors without reliable food, shelter, veterinary care, or protection from predators and traffic.

Local shelters and rescues may also become overwhelmed when there are more cats than available foster or adoptive homes.

Spaying and neutering can:
• Prevent unwanted litters

• Reduce roaming, spraying, fighting, and mating-related behaviors

• Lower the risk of certain infections and reproductive cancers

• Reduce injuries and diseases spread through fighting

• Help cats live safer and healthier lives

Here at BCJ Cat Rescue, we work primarily with feral cats and feral cat colonies.

🐈 What is a feral cat colony?

A feral cat colony is a group of outdoor cats living near a dependable source of food and shelter. Some may be truly feral and afraid of people, while others may be lost, abandoned, or previously owned cats that have joined the colony.

Simply removing cats from an established colony usually does not solve the problem. When food and shelter remain available, new unaltered cats may move into the area and continue reproducing.

That is why many communities use Trap-Neuter-Return, or TNR:

🔵Cats are humanely trapped.

🔵They are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and checked for medical concerns.

🔵Friendly cats and young kittens may be placed in foster or adoptive homes.

🔵Healthy feral cats are returned to their familiar outdoor territory.

🔵Caregivers continue providing food, water, shelter, and monitoring.

🔵Cats who have completed a TNR program are often ear-tipped, meaning a small portion of one ear is removed while they are safely under anesthesia. This is a universal visual sign that the cat has already been altered.

🔵TNR helps stabilize colony populations, prevents new litters, reduces mating behaviors, and allows caregivers to identify sick or injured cats more easily.

If you see outdoor cats in your neighborhood, please do not harm, relocate, or immediately remove them.

Contact a local rescue, shelter, community-cat organization, or TNR volunteer for guidance.

Every spay and neuter appointment prevents future suffering and helps create a healthier community for both cats and people. ❤️

When we first found this big lover boy, Mufasa Punkin Bartholomew the 3rd, was Halloween night while we were out trick or treating. Neighbors had seen him previously limping around the neighborhood after we assumed he had been dumped. He was incredibly friendly and loved snuggles. Now he is living his best life with his dad and even helping him play video games! We love you, Mufasa ❤️

Cookie had a rough start. She was abandoned in an apartment in Arlington with 4 large dogs and 4 other cats. Now she is back in the same apartment complex with a brand new dad! She was a little weary of his wheelchair in the beginning and how its her favorite place to nap! We love you, Cookie ❤️
