Adoption #205 was Ian. Ian was found outside at the age of 13. Considered too old to be sent back outside, he was transferred to our partner rescue, Pawsitive Cause, and then onward to the Beanery. He quickly charmed staff and customers, making himself a favorite of everyone.
Earlier this year, we discovered his urinary issues were caused by cancer of the bladder. Our amazing Shelter Director Danielle went above and beyond, fostering Ian at her home while Pawsitive worked to determine the best course of treatment. Unfortunately, the best decision was to let him transition free of pain and suffering. Knowing this, Danielle decided to adopt Ian to give him a home during his last few weeks.
At Black Cat Beanery, we pride ourselves on being "the home of second chances." In the 9 months Ian spent in our care, he received a lifetime worth of care and love. Our goal is to continue this mission, providing the best care and love to cats waiting for their second chance. The generous donations from our supporters enable us to provide excellent care to our resident cats while they wait for their forever homes, as long as it takes, until the end. If you want to support our mission, a link to our Spring Fundraiser is in our bio.
Thank you so much to everyone who loved Ian ❤️
