Adoption #213 was Mimi! Before coming to the Beanery, Mimi was abandoned by her family when they moved, leaving her alone at their old apartment. The landlord cared for Mimi before bringing her to Pawsitive and Black Cat Beanery. However, Beanery life wasn't the best for Mimi. She had trouble moving around, as she weighed a whopping 25 pounds, and did not like having 14 roommates.

Dave, our wonderful owner, decided to foster Mimi at home and made it his mission to help her lose weight! Despite claiming to be "fostering" Mimi, Mimi did not get that memo and snuggled his way into his heart and became a permanent member of his family. Down 5 pounds and up one loving dad! Congratulations Mimi!

All day next Monday, September 7th, we will be collecting donations for Black Cat Society, our nonprofit, as the entry fee to spend an hour in our cat room. Donate what you can! Any donation is greatly appreciated.

If booking online, $1 will be collected to reserve your time slot. Walk-ins are welcome as long as we have the capacity!

Beverages and snacks are not included with this reservation, but both will be available for purchase at $2 each.

Adoption #212 was Stud! This sweet and dapper tuxedo cat loved socializing with people and other cats. Congratulations Stud, on finding your forever home!

Introducing Okie! Okie and her kitten, Vera, were rescued from an animal-hoarding situation in Lake Orion. Okie is not huge on having 13 other roommates, so she has her own space in the back. But she adores being held by people! Ask a volunteer to see Okie, and they'll be more than happy to take you to the back room.

Interested in one of our shelter cats, but unable to adopt? Want to support our mission? We have a sponsorship program where you can sponsor a cat for $25, covering the cost of their food, litter, toys, and shelter. Sponsors will receive exclusive updates and photos of their sponsored cat!

FIRST TIME EVENT! 🎆
Next Wednesday, August 12th, we will have our first ever Tarot Night at Black Cat Beanery.

For $29, you can pick up a ticket that gets you an introductory 3-card reading from Laura with Ritual444 AND an hour with the kitties, along with the beverage and snack options, as always.

Readings are available for booking in 15 minute increments through the day (4pm-7pm). Come out and meet Laura and potentially your next furry family member!

Adoption #211 was Ash! This adorable kitten spent his time at the Beanery clinging to anyone and everyone who visited the Beanery. No one was safe from his demands for attention! And churu. Ash was obsessed with Churu. So obsessed, he needed to be fed Churu in his adoption photo! Congratulations Ash, on finding your forever family!

Join us to watch the movie Cats & Dogs and keep our kitties company at Black Cat Movie Night! I think it's pretty clear who we're going to be rooting for in this movie...

For this special event pass, you will receive admission to the Cat Room for two hours (approximately 30 minutes of play time with the kitties, and approximately 90 minutes of the movie screening).

This ticket DOES NOT include the beverage and snack that a Black Cat Pass would normally include.

Adoption #210 was Gwen! Gwen arrived at the Beanery with Evelynn (adoption #207) and, just like Evelynn, she was incredibly photogenic. We're convinced Gwen knew because she spent most of her time on the shelves, posing for visitors and volunteers. When she graced us floor people with her presence, she was incredibly sweet! We're so thrilled Gwen found her forever home. Congratulations Gwen!

Adoption #209 was Lieutenant Geordi La Forge! Better known as Geordi, this quirky little guy was found behind a Panera by a friend of the Beanery. Geordi was then fostered by that friend who got to experience Geordi's quirky personality and adorable head tilt. His foster and the Beanery volunteers are so happy he got a second chance and found his forever home!
