I had SO much fun yesterday! ❤️🐾

My friend Sara, who is also Jiffy’s mom (fka Verdict from the recent Demi x Rudy litter), invited me along to watch her work with Jiffy at a Barn Hunt class.

I absolutely loved watching Jiffy figure out the game and learn to use that Setter nose to find her “target.” Watching that little brain work was SO much fun! 😂❤️

While not all of our TriSetters puppies go to hunting homes, many go to companion and sport homes—and I LOVE seeing all the different things their families find for them to do.

Classes and activities like Barn Hunt, Happy Ratters and scent work are such a great way to give our dogs an outlet for their natural instincts, challenge their brains, burn off some of that puppy energy, and, most importantly, build that bond between dog and owner.

Our Setters don't necessarily need to be hunting to have a job. Sometimes their “job” is simply learning something new, having fun, and doing something together with their person. 🥰

One of my favorite parts of breeding is watching our puppy families discover all the possibilities with their TriSetter.

I love seeing what everyone comes up with—new sports, classes, adventures, training games, and all the creative ways they keep those busy Setter brains entertained!

Keep trying things. You never know what your dog might LOVE. ❤️🐾

So we’ve been puppy-sitting one of Demi’s girls for the past 10 days, and Saffron will head home on Sunday. 🥹

We thought Arte would be the one completely tearing it up with her… but nope. 😂

Turns out this has been a Demi & Saffy show from the very beginning. Mom and daughter have absolutely LOVED having each other to play with, and honestly, watching their little duo has been pretty darn adorable. 🥰🐾

We’re definitely going to miss Saffy when she heads home Sunday, but I know we will see her often as her parents live not too far away!

🍂THE TRISETTER FALL HUNTING BEAUTY MAKEOVER!🍂

The girls got their fall hunting beauty makeovers! 😂🐾

And by “makeover,” I mean we trimmed ALL the burr-attracting feathers, fluff and those ridiculous Grinch toes.

I prefer not to shave them down because, well… Midwest winters are no joke!🥶❄️ These girls need some of that beautiful Setter fluff when the temperatures drop. So instead of shaving them, we just do a good fall cleanup to make hunting season a little less “Look what I brought home from the field!” 😂🌾

And this wasn't just a Demi, Arte & Misty spa day!

They were joined by Sawyer and Saffron, two of Demi's daughters, for a full-on a TriSetters family spa day! I just forgot to get the full family photo lol

Five Setters.
A whole lot of hair.
A whole lot of Grinch toes.
And hopefully WAY fewer burrs this hunting season. 😂

Apparently one sport just isn't enough for this dog. 😂

Demi LOVES upland hunting, but when hunting season is over… what’s a bird dog supposed to do?!

Well… clearly **ALL THE THINGS.** 😂

💦 Swimming
🌊 Dock diving
🏃‍♀️ FastCAT
🎯 Agility
🐾 And whatever other crazy activity Mom decides sounds fun!

Because whether your Setter hunts or not — or whether you have a Setter at all — there are SO many fun things you can do with your dog!

Keeping your dog active isn't just about burning off the crazy. 😉 It's a great way to help keep them fit, healthy, mentally stimulated and happy.

And honestly… it helps keep US moving too.

Although, in Demi's case, I'm pretty sure I'm just the chauffeur, equipment manager, treat dispenser and personal assistant. 😂

So when hunting season is over, don't let your bird dog sit around wondering where all the fun went.

Find something they LOVE and go do it!❤️🐾

So how do you burn out **setter energy** when camping?

**Find a Sniffspot.** 😂

Because apparently camping, fresh air, new smells, and an entire campground full of exciting things to investigate is STILL not enough to tire out an English Setter.

Whenever we go to the camper, we try to book the Sniffspot whenever we can. The girls absolutely LOVE it here. They get to run, sniff, explore, zoom, investigate every blade of grass like it contains classified information… and generally act like they’ve been released from prison. 😂🐾

This is Misty’s FIRST time at the sniffspot with us, and she is absolutely loving every second of it!

Demi, however…

Well.

Demi has apparently discovered that I made a HUGE mistake. 🙄

Because while I booked the Sniffspot…

**I DID NOT BOOK THE POOL.** 😱💦

And Miss Demeanor would like everyone to know that this is completely unacceptable.She is currently staring at me like I have personally ruined her vacation.

So maybe tomorrow we book the pool. Lol

🐾 **PUPPY UPDATE!** 🐾

Well hello there, Otis (fka Larceny)! ❤️

We knew from his puppy evaluation that Otis was going to be a handful... and this boy is DEFINITELY living up to that report!

He LOVES playing and hanging out with his human family and older doggie sibling and is settling into his new life in Iowa.

He’s working on learning his name, potty training and sit. It’s definitely a work in progress, but at just **10 weeks old**, he is right on track with his siblings.

His humans are taking their time and focusing on building the best foundation they can for this handsome boy, who is gearing up to be both an upland hunter and a family companion.

Otis has also discovered this wonderful thing called CARPET and has been busy exploring his new accommodations and, apparently, also making his mark as young puppies do.🤦‍♀️ (the trials of puppy ownership lol)

Keep growing, Otis! We can't wait to see the amazing boy we know you will become! ❤️🐾
