Meet Bentley & Baxter ❤️🐾

These adorable 2-year-old brother and sister beagles are searching for a forever home together — and they come as a complete package of cuddles, conversation, zoomies, and sunshine naps. ☀️

Bentley and Baxter are friendly, sweet, and fully committed to finding a family looking for full-time snuggle companions. Baxter is the social butterfly of the pair and loves to “chat” about his day, while Bentley is more of the thoughtful listener who quietly takes it all in. Together, they make the perfect beagle team.

Both pups recently visited the vet and earned glowing reviews for being very good patients. They’ve also been learning the ropes of house training with help from their foster family’s beagle buddy and are making great progress.

These two are energetic youngsters who would thrive with consistent daily exercise, followed by their favorite activity: lounging outside in any tiny sliver of sunshine they can find. A fenced yard is required because backyard naps in the sun are truly one of their greatest joys. 🌞

Bentley and Baxter are wonderful with other dogs. We don’t have information about cats.

If your home is missing a pair of lovable beagles who will keep you entertained, active, and very loved, Bentley and Baxter may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for. ❤️

SUPER SUCCESS STORY

Our first sweet beagle Sally passed way in 2023. In April 2024, we decided we would like to adopt a girl beagle puppy. Our senior cat Ben loved Sally, we thought a girl puppy was most likely to get along with Ben. We contacted Seattle Beagle Rescue and asked to adopt a puppy. Two weeks after our initial adoption interview phone call with SBR volunteer Kathryn, she called back advising there were two puppies in Nebraska that were taken from a puppy mill. At that time she could not tell us if the puppies were girls or boys or provide any information In order to get the puppies transported to Seattle, we had to agree to adopt a puppy sight unseen. The puppies would arrive in Seattle a few days later. We decided we would adopt one of them. On May 6th 2024 Tom met the van in Seattle with two SBR volunteers. When the puppies came out of the van, Tom was handed Sammy, a 12 week old, 9 pound 4 oz bouncing boy.

Sammy was a very rambunctious puppy, reminding us of the Tasmanian Devil from the Looney tunes cartoon. He climbed over the gates and even climbed over a 3’ tall play pen within a couple minutes of putting him in it. He was into everything, and terrorized our cat Ben any chance he got. Poor Ben hid behind the couch in the living room where Sammy could not go for months. We adopted our first beagle Sally at 8 months of age, she lived to 15 years old. We were used to her calm sweet demeanor and she loved Ben. Sammy is not at all like Sally. He is very vocal about everything and grumbles if he is not happy. He is still rambunctious at times, but is also very silly. While we wanted another girl, we are very happy Sammy is part of our family. Ben and Sammy made peace this last October when Ben decided he missed laying by the fire place. Sammy is now 2 years old, 32 pounds, over 15” at the shoulder, and is very long. He’s a big boy. Sammy’s second adoption day anniversary is May 6th,

Sammy follows Tom around all day long insisting on frequent tummy rubs and wants play time when Tom sits down to have a cup of coffee. He loves his morning walk, during which he is tormented by the bunnies and squirrels. He loves to follow Zita around in the yard after she gets home from work and share her seat with her in the evening. We have already planned our first big trip with Sammy down the Oregon coast in June. Ben and Sammy are getting along a lot better, they frequently are near each other, but Ben has no interest in playing with Sammy. It is amazing to see how far they have progressed. We believe with time they will become better friends.

Thank you Seattle Beagle Rescue for everything you do. Sammy is an important part of our life.

Today we celebrate the dogs who got a second chance — and the people who helped make it happen. ❤️🐾

Every rescue dog has a story. Some come from neglect, abandonment, or uncertainty… but with love, patience, and rescue, those stories can become happy endings.

At Seattle Beagle Rescue, we are grateful for every adopter, foster, volunteer, and supporter who helps change lives one beagle at a time.

Because rescue doesn’t just save dogs… they save us too. 🐶

Eight wonderful beagles and beagle mixes will arrive on the Operation Frodo transport on June 10th. They will all go to foster homes and be available for adoption. Watch our website for photos and profiles.

Four beagles will travel from St Louis to Omaha and will join the other beagles that will journey to Utah, Oregon and finally Seattle.

Our rescue partners at Bassets and Beagles of the Heartland are hard at work getting beagles and supplies ready for Operation Frodo. This is where we rely on your generosity to help us provide for the supplies that will be needed on the transport. Please take a look at the wish list and help if you are able. Thank you!

UPDATE: Wonderful news! Klondike’s family have grown so attached, they can’t give him up and will do whatever is needed to make this work, so Klondike is staying with his family.

Meet Klondike 🐾

Klondike’s journey started in the St. Louis area when he was found as a stray and taken in by SBR, sparing him from being transferred to a large overcrowded shelter where his future would have been uncertain. He later made the trip to Seattle, hopeful for a fresh start and a forever home.

Klondike recently entered a foster-to-adopt home, and while everyone agrees he is a very good dog, it has become clear that the match isn’t quite the right fit. Klondike and the resident dog get along, but Klondike is still a young guy with an enthusiastic, energetic play style that can be a little too much for his canine housemate.

At about a year old and 30 pounds, Klondike is full of personality, affection, and potential. He absolutely loves people and is described as very sweet with them. He’s mostly housetrained but will still need a consistent potty schedule and continued guidance as he settles into a new routine.

Klondike is looking for:
🐶 An active family ready for a young dog
🏡 A securely fenced yard
🎾 Daily exercise, playtime, and training
❤️ Someone committed to helping him continue learning good leash manners

Like many young dogs, Klondike can be reactive toward other dogs while on leash, so he will need a patient adopter willing to help him build confidence and work through that behavior. Cats and children are currently unknown.

His current foster-to-adopt family cares about him very much and truly wants to see him land in a home that better matches his needs so he can live his happiest life.

Klondike is a sweet dog with a bright future ahead of him — he just needs the right people to help him shine. ✨

Update! These girls have a place to go.

🐾 Double the Beagle, Double the Love! 🐾

Meet Boo and Coco — two beautiful bonded sisters hoping for a chance at a new beginning here in the Pacific Northwest. They have an opportunity to travel from the Midwest on transport the week of June 7, but right now they still need a place to land. ❤️

Sadly, we don’t currently have a foster home available for a pair, and we haven’t had applicants looking to adopt two dogs together. But bonded pairs are truly something special. They comfort each other, play together, nap together, and keep each other company when their humans are away. Watching their bond is pure sweetness.

Boo and Coco are:
🐶 Housetrained
🐶 Good on leash
🐶 Sweet companions
🐶 Looking for a home with no cats (they think chasing cats sounds fun!)

Our biggest wish is to keep these girls together where they belong. We are looking for either:
🏡 A foster home

🏡 Or a foster-to-adopt home

Can you open your heart and home to Boo and Coco so they can make their journey to Seattle? Helping bonded pairs stay together truly changes their lives. ❤️🐾
