Surprised to find a standing dry heifer calf this morning with Ailis. It is 95 degrees today but they are in the shade of the barn and relaxed. Just 332 days from her last calf, she was busy for an old lady.

Summer of Gotland wool sweaters continues. I cast off the all over cables sweater (the last of the lambs wool fi*****ng yarn 😟). I started a stranded colorwork sweater with the DK weight 2-ply, some of it dyed a deep plum color. This wool is so versatile.

Checking in on the Purple Martin nesting gourds again. The babies seem to be handling the heat and growing. Probably still a couple weeks from first flying lessons.

19 babies and 15 eggs in 8 Purple Martin gourds. Facing a hot week so hoping for the best. Fledging in 26-32 days expected. My favorite show.
