CARE Veterinary Services, by Dr. Jessica Marziani, is located inside Central Houston animal Hospital and provides complementary therapy to pets. CARE stands for Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Rehabilitation and Exercise, but it's also what Dr. Marziani does, she cares about each and everyone of her patients. Dr. Marziani is certified in veterinary chiropractic, acupuncture and canine rehab. After spen

ding the beginning of her career in general private practice, Dr. Marziani found that providing complementary therapies for patients was extremely rewarding and what she wanted to do full time. Dr. Marziani received her veterinary degree from the University of Missouri (Go Tigers!). She is certified in animal chiropractic by the Veterinary Chiropractic Association, certified in Veterinary Acupuncture by the Chi Institute, and certified in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy by the Canine Rehabilitation Institute

🐅 We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Dr. Marziani receiving the Eye of the Tiger Award from the University of Missouri, recognizing alumni who embody leadership, dedication, and impact long after graduation. Which, if you know her, feels less like a surprise and more like official confirmation of what we already knew.

What makes this especially meaningful is that this recognition goes beyond titles or credentials. It’s about the kind of person you are, the way you show up for others, and the impact you leave behind.

And that’s exactly who Dr. Marziani is. The kind of leader who makes everyone around her better, pushes boundaries in veterinary medicine, and somehow still finds time to cheer on every patient, teammate, and student lucky enough to cross her path.

At CARE, we get a front row seat to that every day.

Whether she’s tackling complex rehab and pain management cases, teaching, collaborating, speaking on stage, or hyping up a patient relearning how to walk like it’s the veterinary Olympics, Dr. Marziani brings the same energy to all of it: thoughtful, relentless, and deeply invested in doing things well.

So yes, this is a humble brag.
But also not that humble. Because our team is ridiculously talented, and we’re pretty lucky to have her leading the charge. 🖤

Congratulations, Dr. Marziani!

Houston, we have a... situation. 🚀

This is Adora. She came to us with a mysterious past, questionable life choices, and approximately six pounds of oversized puppy feet.

She arrived tiny. She is now... not tiny. At all.

So naturally, it’s time for the ultimate office debate:

✨ WHAT BREED IS ADORA? ✨

We’re sending her DNA test off to Embark Veterinary (hi 👀) and want YOUR guesses before the results come back.

Current theories include:• small horse• cryptid• muppet• “that’s definitely part shepherd”• suspiciously long teenager• whatever breed steals your entire couch in one move

Drop your guesses below ⬇️Winner receives:🏆 bragging rights🏆 the satisfaction of being smarter than all of us🏆 absolutely no cash prize because Adora already spent the budget on snacks

Results coming soon…

Open house recap: successful.
Camera rolls: approximately 40% rehab education, 40% candid chaos, 20% perfectly executed photo bombs. 💙

We had such a great night getting to welcome our referral community into the clinic, show off the space, talk rehab and pain management, and spend time with so many amazing veterinary teams.

Huge thank you to the Arthramid team for being our featured presenters and teaching us more about another tool to help keep arthritic patients comfortable, mobile, and living their best lives.
Also to Rebeca, who became the official rehab shuttle bus hype person of the evening despite avoiding photographic evidence entirely. Her contributions included morale boosting, guest wrangling, comedic commentary, and keeping the vibes at medically appropriate but enthusiastic levels all night long. 🫡🐾
Also a massive shoutout to all of the reps who helped make the night happen behind the scenes with raffle prizes, food, goodies, and support for both our guests and team. You all absolutely spoiled us.

We loved getting to share what we do, answer questions, swap case stories, and remind everyone that veterinary medicine really is better when we work together.

Also, if you accidentally ended up in the background of 17 photos… just know you’re part of the décor now. 🐾.

Brains 🧠 were busy and bodies were healing early this week at CARE.

We had our shockwave rep in the building, diving into one of our favorite modalities. Shockwave therapy uses acoustic sound waves to create controlled microtrauma in tissues… which sounds a little dramatic, but it’s actually the body’s cue to wake up, increase blood flow, recruit growth factors, and kickstart healing where it’s been stalled. A strategic little “hey, fix this” to the body. ⚡️

Meanwhile, our team didn’t stop there. Two of our technicians are at a pain management conference, leveling up their knowledge and bringing it straight back to our patients.

And now, a well-earned brag moment:

Kristina, CVPP 💥
When she earned her Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner designation, she was the only technician in Texas to hold that credential.

Yeah. We’re going to say that again louder for the people in the back.

👏 ONLY. TECH. IN. TEXAS. 👏

This is what we believe in:
Learning isn’t optional. It’s the backbone of better medicine.

Because better education = better care = better lives for the pets we love.

We’ll keep showing up, learning more, and raising the bar… one conference, one certification, and one very spoiled patient at a time.

7 pounds down and getting surgery-ready, one dance-powered step at a time 💃

“Even on April Fool’s… rehab still gets done.”

When the underwater treadmill isn’t an option, we adapt in real time—because consistency matters more than perfection.

Today’s plan B for Party, a high performance agility dog: land treadmill + dynamic obstacles (yes, those balance pods are supposed to be there 😉)

This kind of targeted challenge helps improve coordination, strength, and proprioception—while keeping our patients engaged and progressing toward their goals.

A little unexpected? Sure.
Effective? Absolutely.

No tricks here—just thoughtful, individualized care. 🐾

Pets… they’re just like us. 🐾

Workout Wednesday rolls around…
You warm up ✔️
You commit ✔️
You clear a couple hurdles like a total pro ✔️

…and then your inner voice goes, “actually… I’m done here.” 🚶‍♀️💨

Hurdles help improve range of motion, coordination, and strength…
but even the best patients have their nope moments.

That’s where we come in. 💪
Our team is here to cheer them on, guide them through, and help them do the things they might not choose on their own—so they can keep building strength and confidence every step of the way.

Because progress isn’t always enthusiastic… but it is worth it. 🐶✨

👑 Official Royal Announcement 👑

Breaking news from the palace: Alice has turned 17.

Sources confirm she remains:
• Queen of the Scene
• Ruler of Blankets
• Collector of Compliments
• CEO of Getting Whatever She Wants

At 17 years young, Her Majesty continues to command the room with a single look that clearly says, “Yes, you may admire me.”

Staff are honored to serve in her court and will continue providing pets, praise, and snacks as required by royal law.

Please join us in wishing Queen Alice a fabulous 17th birthday. She would like everyone to know that she is aging like fine champagne… and expects to be treated accordingly.

Long reign the tiny monarch. 👑🐾💗

5 years ago today, Dr. Marziani unexpectedly went viral for doing what she loves! Providing extra TLC for animals of all sizes!!

You might see our elderly Asian elephant, Methai sporting a new look in the yard! She's been fitted with kinesio tape by Dr. Marziani, one of our consulting veterinarians who specializes in rehabilitation therapy, chiropractic, and other non-invasive therapeutics in animals. The kinesio tape is an elastic sports tape designed to relieve pain while supporting muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Since Methai is getting up there in age (she's 51!) she's starting to show signs of arthritis and stiffness. Our animal care professionals work hard to ensure every animal at the Zoo receives the best care possible!
