You asked, we ANSWERED!! Here's a fall discount on spays and neuters across the board. We see the desperate need for animals to be spayed and neutered and we want to do our absolute best to keep it affordable for everyone. These prices are approximately 15% off our normal prices, so if you have been waiting or putting off getting your animal fixed, wait no more!!

Before you ask, we will STILL be doing our barn cat special in the month of December!! We will announce that in October and start taking appointments for that special then.

Summer is almost over! Don’t forget that fleas and ticks are still very active- keep your pets protected year round and help keep the creepy crawlers off you and them!!!

We have the one year shot, one month and three month pills in the office.

Also, please remember that we are a small business. Everytime you go online and send us a prescription for medication and preventions we keep in the office it adds work to our day and takes business away from us.

Chewy, Amazon and other big box pharmacies are able to get slightly better prices because they buy in much bigger numbers than we can.

However, they also aren’t sponsoring your high school football teams, supporting local charities, buying cookies from your Girl Scouts, putting signs in gyms for basketball, volleyball or cheering your kids on from the stands.

Please remember that as our world gets to where convenience is king- your small extra effort and loyalty to support your local small businesses really does make a difference to your local community.

She has found a home! Thank you all for your interest!

We have had someone surrender an adult female cat that would make an excellent barn cat! If you are interested, please call and let us know and we will spay her and update her shots before she is picked up!!!

We have tested SIX dogs positive for heartworms TODAY at the clinic.

Please please please consider getting your dog started on heartworm prevention. It is a very small price to pay to prevent congestive heart failure in your dog due to heartworm infestation. Heartworms are always deadly if not caught and treated early but the best treatment is always prevention.

If you have dogs less than a year old, we can just get them started as long as we have an updated weight. If they are over 1, we need to do a simple in house blood test to ensure they are negative to get them started. No appointment needed, just come by when we are open so we can prevent these terrible parasites in your dogs!!

The price on prevention is about ten dollars a month and the testing is around 35. Come see us Friday for a heartworm test and make sure that your dog is protected!!!!

‼️Livestock owners‼️

I know most of you are aware there has been 4 confirmed cases of the New World Screwworm in Texas the last few days.

This is a developing situation and we are watching it carefully.

What it means for you:

Be vigilant and watch your livestock and observe wildlife for wounds.

If you have animals with open wounds (trauma or surgical - castration, dehorning, etc) they need to be treated with fly control— Catron if possible- and cleaned as often as possible until healed.

If you can wait and do elective procedures in the winter months that would be ideal.

Please report anything suspicious to me or your local state veterinarian. —Any maggot infested wounds need samples taken
—wildlife with large wounds need to be investigated even if you find them deceased.

THIS WILL affect the transit of livestock across state lines. We have already seen states changing requirements and it’s changing daily.

PLEASE do not assume health papers are going to be ‘business as usual’ from here on out.

Dog and cat owners- it is now more than ever imperiative we keep our small animal pets on the oral (or new injectable!) flea and tick prevention as this prevents the new world screw worm maggots in them.

Please note that ticks are HORRIBLE already this year so don’t forget your dog and cats protection! We have one month and three month pills and the new once a year shot to prevent them on your pets! This is one big way to keep them out of your house and off of you!!! 🚫🕷️🚫.
