Meet Raven: professional zoomie enthusiast, treat connoisseur and squeaky toy superfan.

At 2 years old, Raven is curious, playful and ready to find a person who will give her the time and space to settle in and shine. She's always ready for a good play sesion, will happily work for treats and considers squeaky toys (especially tennis balls) a very important part of life.

Raven would do best in a calm, patient home where she can build confidence at her own pace. If you have other dogs at home, she'll need to meet her future roommates before heading home to make sure everyone is a good match.

From Tuesday, Oct. 13, through Saturday, Oct. 24, adoption fees for dogs 9 months and older are just $50 at Columbus Humane.

Every adoption includes:
- Spay/neuter surgery
- Microchip
- Vaccinations
- Complimentary first veterinary visit at VCA
- Hill’s Pet Nutrition starter kit

That’s a lot of love, all wrapped up in one adoption. And, when you bring a dog home, you help make space for another animal who needs our help.

Ready to meet your match? Visit Columbus Humane at 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Court in Hilliard, Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 6 p.m.

When communities face an emergency, every bit of space matters.

This morning, Columbus Humane welcomed six dogs from Mobile, Alabama, as part of a lifesaving transport coordinated by BISSELL Pet Foundation. By moving animals to partner shelters, this effort helps create critical space for local shelters to care for animals who may be displaced by the storm and support families facing uncertainty.

After an overnight journey and so much change, these dogs are safe and settling in. Each has a soft bed, nutritious food and enrichment to help them decompress. Our team will get to know each dog individually and provide the medical and behavioral care they need. We don’t yet know when they’ll be available for adoption, but we’ll share updates as we know more.

We’re grateful to BISSELL Pet Foundation, Greater Birmingham Humane Society and everyone who helped make this transport possible. Our thoughts are with the families, shelter and response teams and animals navigating uncertainty during this time.

Here’s how you can help:

Give what you can. Your donation helps provide food, medical and behavioral care, enrichment and a safe place to land for these six dogs and the more than 250 animals in our care today. Every gift helps us be ready for the next animal who needs us.

Adopt a dog. Our shelter is nearing capacity, and every adoption makes a difference. When you welcome a shelter pet into your family, you help open space for another animal who needs safety and care.

Donate today at https://bit.ly/4rUsjkU and visit columbushumane.org/adopt to meet the dogs waiting for homes.

Our house hippo is a TV STAR!

Cuatro Michael made his debut on Good Day Columbus for Fur Baby Friday, and he’s ready to turn that five minutes of fame into a forever home.

This 9-year-old gentleman knows sit and paw, loves a good car ride and has big plans for his golden years: a comfy couch, loving humans and a few hot dogs.

Michael is potty trained, walks great on a leash and does the sweetest little pittie trot when he gets excited. He could be a great fit for a variety of homes, including one with other dogs. He hasn’t met any cats yet, so slow introductions would be important, which our adoption counselors can walk you through.

Now for the important question: Does your couch have room for one more?

Come meet Cuatro Michael at Columbus Humane! You might just be the person he’s been waiting for.

Keke is home, and she’s settling right in.

Recently adopted from Columbus Humane, Keke was one of our longest residents this year. Along the way, she made plenty of friends, including the kids she helped teach through CARE Club, our Humane Education program, and the wonderful foster family who welcomed her into their home.

Now, she’s getting to enjoy the part of her story we’ve all been waiting for: life with her family. They shared this sweet update:

“Keke is doing great and adjusting well. She has our hearts already!”

We’re so happy to see Keke thriving with a family of her own, and so grateful to everyone who helped her get here.

Every adoption opens the door to a new chapter, and every animal deserves the opportunity to feel safe, loved and free to be themselves.

If you’ve adopted from Columbus Humane, we’d love to hear how things are going. Share an update or a favorite photo of your pet in the comments!

There’s something pretty special about knowing someone is cheering you on 💙

A huge thank you to the students at St. Mary School in German Village for taking the time to write such thoughtful cards for the staff and volunteers at Columbus Humane.

Their kind words have brought plenty of smiles to our team and will continue to brighten our days! We’re so grateful to have such thoughtful young people community, reminding us that every act of kindness can go a long way!

Thank you, Saint Mary School German Village!
