Our technicians are our phlebotomists, anesthesiologists, client liason or custom service representatives, surgical assistants, treat givers, paw holders and much much more!! What's the difference between Subcutaneous (or SQ) fluids and Intravenous (or IV) fluids? SQ fluids are given under the skin, and the fluid absorbs slowly, typically over several hours. IV fluids are given directly into the vein, so the body gets a continuous drip of fluids directly into their bloodstream. Tebow here is seen getting an IV fluid bolus, meaning he is getting a large amount of IV fluid quickly, to rehydrate him before going on a "maintenance" or slower rate of IV fluid.

How do we manage our spicy cats you ask? We sedate them and dress them up like witches! 🧙‍♀️

But in all seriousness, we love a fresh kitty! They may end up needing a little medication to alleviate their stress, and to help us to get good Xrays. But we love them anyway!

If your pet is not feeling well, (or you just want us to dress them up in a seasonally appropriate costume) come to Brijon! 🎃

This sweet (naughty!) pup ate an avocado WHOLE! His owner acted quickly and brought him right to us. We induced vomiting, and within 5 minutes of walking in the door, the avocado came back up- whole! The biggest concern with this particular ingestion is the avocado pit. Because of the size it would have very likely gotten stuck trying to pass through his intestines, which would have required a foreign body surgery. But Wally got lucky (and so did his owners 😝). If your pet ingests something they should not have, don't wait! Call us, or bring them in so we can assess the situation and if appropriate, induce vomiting right away.
