Be good to your neighbors, they can be such a blessing!!!!

Our driveway has been flooding and we have been trying to dig out the excess "stuff" one wheelbarrow at a time. Our neighbors jumped in and helped more than they might even realize.

🐾🌞💪🏻Happy Labor Day Friends!!💪🏻🌞🐾

We wanted to take the opportunity to Thank each and every one of you that have supported us and the Kritters for YOUR hard work 🫶! We wouldn't be able to continue the journey without the love from all of you!! 👏🫂👏

While, admittedly, I'm not the best at keeping up with posting Thank You's 😬, I do my very best to make sure everyone knows how much everything is appreciated. From simply liking and commenting, to sharing and donating - every bit is amazing 🥰!

This Thank You is a little late, but hey, better late than never 😁!

Over the past few weeks we have gotten some incredibly helpful foods/toys/supplys etc. donations for the Kritters, some beautiful kind cards, as well as donations to our GoFundMe for Ty 😍- including a very generous "sponsor" bringing us so close to finally closing out the CareCredit 🙌!

I can't even come up with the right words for the range of emotions I feel because of all the kindness our friends, family, community and supportive followers have shown us here at Kirby's Kritters 🥹!

🦩 FLAMINGOS HAVE RETURNED TO FLORIDA — NESTING AGAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 100 YEARS

Something quietly miraculous is happening in Florida.

🔍 WHAT WE KNOW (FACTS & CONTEXT)

For the first time in over a century, wild American flamingos have returned to Florida and begun nesting.

Once native to the region, flamingos disappeared from Florida in the late 1800s and early 1900s due to:
• Overhunting
• Habitat destruction
• Wetland drainage
• Human interference

For generations, flamingos were thought of as:
• Zoo animals
• Lawn ornaments
• Imported curiosities

Not homegrown wildlife.

But they were always meant to be here.

Recent years have seen:
• Small groups reappearing after major storms
• Increased sightings in the Everglades and coastal wetlands
• Now — confirmed nesting behavior, the strongest sign of true return

Nesting means safety.
It means suitability.
It means the land is whispering, “You can stay.”

🤔 REFLECTION

Nature has a long memory.

Longer than ours.

Flamingos did not return because humans invited them.
They returned because conditions finally allowed them to survive again.

This isn’t just about birds.

It’s about:

After a century of absence, life found a way back — not loudly, not triumphantly — but patiently.

While they were not adopted together, they do have new human and fur siblings to love and grow with them! Two wonderful families have an Amazing new edition with these pups!!
