BLIND DOG "BUMPER" IS STILL AT RISK - DEADLINE MONDAY 10/19 @ 12PM💔

Bumper is weighing on our hearts heavily🥺 The shelter is stressful for any animal, but it's even more confusing to an animal that can't physically see their surroundings. He hears doors open and close and waits patiently wagging his tail, but no humans appear. Then he finally hears that happy voice that calls his name when it's his turn to go outside, and then it fades away.

It's gut wrenching to think of this boy being set out and wandering on the side of the road. How long did he walk desperately smelling for something familiar?😞 Bumper is here to no fault of his own. His journey shouldn't end in an overcrowded shelter simply because he was unwanted. He lives life differently and will need accommodations, but that doesn't change the love he has to give💙

Bumper🐾 ID #: 61840667, 6 year old Terrier mix, unaltered male, 45lbs, HW negative.

Jupiter comes to us from a very tragic situation😞 His original owner entrusted another individual to care for him while unable to. This home was recently investigated, numerous dogs were found to be living in incredibly poor conditions, and for one dog it was too late💔

Jupiter survived, he is just a year old and has already had such a difficult life🥺 His original owner is still not in a place to financially care for him, a selfless decision, but it is in the best interest of the animal. Jupiter will have a long road of healing ahead that will require routine veterinary care. We are hopeful to connect with a rescue organization that can help oversee his recovery.

◼️INFO: Jupiter Animal ID #: 61898505, 1 year old Hound/Retriever mix, unaltered male, 35lbs, HW negative, aloof with other dogs.

◼️INFO: Red Animal ID #: 61836707, 3 year old Alaskan Husky mix, neutered male, 95lbs, HW negative, dog social.

Red came to us as a stray with a microchip, we were so hopeful! We even made contact with the owner via phone but Red was never reclaimed😞 These situations are always tough when communication goes dark. We wish owners would at minimum sign our surrender forms so we can collect helpful information. Did Red live inside or outside? Did he have relationships with other animals in the home? What was his daily routine like? What are some things he likes and dislikes?

It seems that Red was well cared for and loved. He comes to us well groomed, neutered, HW negative, and microchipped. We are urgently looking to find rescue placement with an organization familiar with the typical dramatic and stubborn husky behavior. Although Red has enjoyed becoming our shelter water aerobics instructor, we realize how quickly this breed can deteriorate in a shelter environment💔

◼️INFO: Jodie Animal ID #: 61905061, 6 year old Chihuahua, male, 7.6lbs.

Jodie comes to us after the death of his owner just yesterday😞 All animals upon intake receive vaccinations and preventatives, which Jodie did not seem fond of, but allowed.

When it came time for our Veterinary team to do a more thorough exam which includes a blood draw, Jodie became a possessed animatronic Halloween decoration. (Okay we are kidding - sort of)😅 It was clear this was all too much and too soon for Jodie, so we are now taking the slow approach.

Jodie has no issues being held, carried, or pet. But restraint for medical handling is a huge stressor to him right now. He has been through a lot in a very short time, losing his only family and home. We are hoping to connect with a small breed rescue who can help this guy out during this difficult transition and give him a true period of decompression🐾

You might remember us mentioning Lil Bit, she comes from our recent large scale intake of 23 dogs from a singular home😔 Link to post: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Nn6UEW6oZ/

She was in a home with 3 other adult female dogs communally nursing a total of 19 puppies, Lil Bit was the only adult female not lactating. We quickly secured placement for the nursing moms and puppies and now we turn our focus to Lil Bit.

As one can imagine with this many animals under one roof, the living conditions were less than ideal. There wasn’t any structure, routine, or socialization. Lil Bit is a year old and a collar and leash are foreign to her💔 She allows staff to carry her but urinates and defecates on herself. She lays on the fence line while other dogs engage and play. Her tail stays glued to her belly.

We are looking for a rescue organization familiar with dogs coming from hoarding like conditions. She is more than deserving of a second chance🐾

◼️INFO: Lil Bit Animal ID #: 61896806, 1 year old Shepherd mix, unaltered female, 25lbs, HW negative.

◼️INFO: Pipsqueak Animal ID #: 61893003, 8 week old Terrier mix, female, 11lbs, please see radiographs in comment section below⬇️

This 11lb girl we are calling Pipsqueak is a little fighter. She was found in a dumpster behind a local store, unwanted and quite literally left behind like trash😞 Despite how she has been previously treated, she is just social and playful as any other puppy would be at her age🐾

Upon evaluation at the shelter, it was obvious she sustained an injury to her right front limb. Radiographs confirmed fractures of the radius and ulna. Luckily, our Veterinarian thinks this will heal with pain management and crate rest. We are hoping to secure rescue placement so this girl can heal in a much quieter and cozier environment... and get endless belly rubs that she loves so much💗

We just took in 23 dogs from one singular household - 4 adult females and 19 puppies that were communal nursing😞

We are working through intake and providing vetting. Please bear with us as this process can be lengthy. We are currently working to identify which moms have enough milk supply and deciphering ages of puppies to split them into appropriate litters.

What we do know is that we will need immediate rescue support. This is a large scale intake for a shelter that is already over capacity with several animals at risk of euthanasia. If your organization can provide assistance, please contact the shelter.

Meet Cicada💙 ID #: 61736475, 3 year old Terrier mix, neutered male, 52lbs, HW negative, dog social - joins rough/rowdy playgroups.

This playful boy is having an extremely hard time in the shelter environment😞 Cicada is happiest romping around the yard playing tag with another four-legged friend, but this is only a small part of his day. The vast majority of his day is spent in the isolation of a kennel, upwards of 23+ hours. The shelter is only meant to be a temporary stay until an adoptive family can be found.

Cicada is looking for an experienced adopter, ideally a family that is active, and bonus points if there's another dog to run around with!🐾 Cicada is higher energy and will need healthy outlets. He would greatly benefit from a dedicated family who will help provide him with training while transitioning from shelter to home with boundaries and routine.

FINAL PLEA - DEADLINE TUESDAY 10/13 @ 12PM🚨

***There is now a generous pledge of $500.00 that can be applied directly to the Veterinary account of any rescue organization able to help Willard🤞***

We had a gut feeling this could happen, all other urgent dogs from last week have found placement except for our senior dog Willard. He is now at risk of being euthanized🥺

Willard comes to us as a stray found by a Good Samaritan. He was found near an exit off of the main highway and was kept safe until a road specialist was able to respond. We don't know if Willard has simply lost his way from his family or if he was purposefully left behind, we don't want to choose to believe the latter💔

Our veterinary team has looked over Willard and he is going to need continued medical care. Willard is geriatric and is suffering from suspected arthritis. He also has severe dental disease and will need a dental cleaning and most likely extractions. However, his bloodwork shows that he is anemic so this will need to be addressed before he could become a surgical candidate. He is also positive for HW disease😔

We know our rescue partners just like us are at capacity, foster homes are already full, donations are fewer, vet prices are higher. It's a big ask for any organization to take on a senior that will need long-term support. But not any of this is Willard's fault😢

◼️INFO: Willard ID #: 61785660, 10 year old Terrier mix, unaltered male, 62lbs, HWP *started doxycycline*, lower energy, joins gentle/dainty dog playgroups. Previous post link: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1DqESf9A4J/
