🐾 TRAINER TIP OF THE DAY: BARKING DOGS 🐾

Is your dog barking at everything that moves? 🗣️🐕

Barking is communication. Instead of simply trying to stop the noise, figure out WHY your dog is barking.

Is it:
• Excitement
• Fear or anxiety
• Frustration
• Attention-seeking
• Territorial behavior
• Reactivity
• Boredom or lack of mental stimulation

💡 Trainer Tip: A bored dog will often find their own job — and sometimes that job is barking at everything they see! Exercise is important, but mental enrichment and training are just as important.

Give your dog a job. Practice obedience, scent games, problem-solving exercises, structured walks, or simply work on impulse control.

And remember: don’t wait until your dog is already in full-blown barking mode. Catch it early, redirect their attention, and reward calm behavior.

🐾 EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT! 🐾

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be bringing in a German Shepherd puppy to begin a carefully planned training and development program with LB Canine Training! 🐕‍🦺

This puppy will be raised and trained with a focus on confidence, obedience, environmental stability, clear communication, and real-world skills.

The goal is to develop a versatile working companion with potential for:

🔹 Personal Protection
🔹 Family Protection
🔹 Service Dog Work
🔹 Search & Rescue / Scent Work
🔹 Advanced obedience and reliable real-life manners

The puppy will have time to grow, learn, experience different environments, and develop before being offered to the right home.

This won’t be a dog that is simply trained and sold. I’ll be evaluating temperament, drives, stability, and aptitude throughout the process to determine what type of work the dog is best suited for.

When the time comes, this German Shepherd will be available to the right qualified home based on their goals and the dog’s abilities.

Follow along as we watch this puppy grow from the beginning and see what they’re capable of! 🐾

🐾 Little Dogs Need Training Too! 🐾

Just because they’re tiny doesn’t mean they don’t need structure, boundaries, and good manners!

This 5-month-old miniature Dachshund is learning that training isn’t just for the big dogs. We’re working on obedience, impulse control, confidence, and building good habits now—before those adorable puppy behaviors become lifelong habits. 🐶

This 7-month-old Doberman puppy is being such a goofball—as Dobermans always are! 😂🐾
But don’t let that silly face fool you! Before this photo, we were putting in the work on impulse control and long sit-stays. Teaching young dogs how to stay focused, settle, and hold position takes patience and consistency.
Then… of course, we had to capture the goofy side! ❤️🐕‍🦺
Training isn’t just about obedience—it’s about building self-control, confidence, and a dog who can think through distractions.

🐾 A BIG MILESTONE FOR ME & my Fella! 🐾

Starting August 20th, I’ll officially be able to volunteer and deploy with my dog,to assist with missing-person searches. ❤️

This has been a goal I’ve worked incredibly hard toward, and I’m so proud to finally reach this point. Search work is about so much more than training a dog—it’s about preparation, teamwork, commitment, and being ready to help when someone needs it most.

Mala and I still have plenty to learn and experience, but I’m excited for the opportunity to put our training to work and hopefully make a difference for families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

August 20th marks the beginning of a new chapter for us. 🐕‍🦺🔎

Here’s to putting the work in, answering the call, and doing what we can to help bring people home. ❤️

Did you know? Dogs must be 24 months or older for OFA Hip and Elbow certification, and 12 months or older for Cardiac, Patellas, and Thyroid certification. There is no age minimum for eye certification, nor for DNA, since DNA does not change as the dog ages.

The OFA also does Preliminary evaluations on hips and elbows before 24 months of age. However, they will need to be re-evaluated again for a final certification once the dog reaches 24 months.

Nova is an A plus star student! She has been in my service dog training program for several month now.
One of her task she is trained to do is medication retrieval she thinks it’s a fun game! Today we worked on getting ready for the airport.
