Our Mission:To reduce the number of unwanted animals euthanized in Mercer County through collaborative coalitions and community alliances. EASEL is a dog and cat rescue group / animal shelter in Mercer County close to I-295 and the airport at 4 Jake Garzio Drive, Ewing, NJ. ADOPTION CENTER HOURS:: Seven days a week, 12:00 - 3:00 pm and on Wednesdays from 5:00-7:00 pm. MISSION To reduce the number

of unwanted animals euthanized in Mercer County through collaborative coalitions and community alliances. VISION is a community where the human-animal bond is strong and an environment of respect for living creatures guarantees animals a healthy indoor home or safe habitat. WE STRIVE TO:

– facilitate placement of stray and unwanted pets in desirable homes
– prevent overpopulation and cruelty to animals
– promote responsible pet ownership through humane education

Our adorable buns are still looking for homes! 🐰
Handsome Humphrey and Majestic Mabel came to EASEL after being found as strays in Ewing and are now ready to find families of their own. These sweet, friendly rabbits are fully vetted, appear to be between 1–2 years old, and do not need to be adopted together.

Phoenix has been in and out of our care since 2023—adopted, fostered, adopted again, and ultimately returned. Through it all, he had a dedicated group of advocates who never gave up on him and remained committed to helping him find the right place to call home.

Yesterday, Phoenix left to begin his next chapter with one of his favorite people. Over the past year and a half, Sharlane has worked tirelessly with him, advocated for him, and moved mountains to make this adoption possible.

We are incredibly grateful to Sharlane for opening her home and heart to Phoenix, embracing him for exactly who he is, quirks and all. We couldn’t be happier for Phoenix, who now gets to spend the rest of his life with someone who truly understands him.

A special thank you to everyone who was part of Phoenix’s journey along the way—those who took him on adventures, welcomed him into their homes for extra TLC, spent time training with him, and helped him grow into the dog he is today. It truly took a village, and Phoenix is better for having had so many people believe in him and invest in his future.

Happy life, Phoenix. We’ll miss you dearly, but our hearts are full knowing you’ve finally found exactly where you belong. ❤️🐾

Fifteen is the lucky number for the week as we said goodbye to 11 kittens and 4 adults. We are super excited for our man, Nacho Fry, FIV positive cat and 7 1/2 year old who will join a feline buddy in his new home and has been waiting for 147 days. Sweet Rudy joins two human brothers in his new home and is already enjoying his new life. Silvio who was returned through no fault of his own joins two feline siblings in his new home. And stunning mom Azalea didn’t last a day without being scooped up, as well as two of her kittens, Cosmo and Poppy. The entire “Flower” litter found homes either together or with another young cat in their new home. Dale Evans and Turbo were adopted together and have become instant friends, as well as Menace and his new sister, Krypton. And adorable Helium will join a new sister in his new home. Happy life to all.

🌸🐾 Meet the Flower Litter!

These beautiful 8-week-old female kittens didn't have the easiest start to life—they were found outside, bravely doing their best to survive all on their own before being brought to the safety of our shelter.

Because of their rough past, they are currently a little shy and timid. But just like real flowers, all these little buds need is a warm, patient, and loving home to help them put down roots. We know that with a little time, they will completely blossom into confident, purring lap cats! 🌺✨As with all of our kittens they need to go to a home with another young cat or adopted in pairs.
