Mandy and General came in together, and they’re both still looking for their people! 🤞❤️

🩵General is estimated to be two years old and came to us very shy, having not spent much time around humans. He’s getting the hang of it, though, and he does really great on his walks!
🩷 Mandy is also a shy sweetheart. She is estimated to be around three years old and 49 pounds. She thrives in the company of other dogs and would do great with a companion and a fenced yard.

Both are great with other dogs and will be wonderful companions for patient, kind families. If you could be their safe space, please consider meeting one (or both 😉).

Norma Jean doesn’t do the loud kennel scene. Her face has “I’m too old for that nonsense” written all over it. She prefers peace & quiet so she’s taken up residence in the front office of the shelter. From her soft bed, she provides daily supervision & occasional judgement. This sweet chihuahua mix is 10 yrs old & 26 lbs & she wants what every senior deserves: comfort, calm & a person who thinks her perfectly imperfect crooked underbite is the cutest thing on Earth😊Norma Jean is ready for her retirement era, and we can’t wait for her to find the person who will love her exactly as she is💛 Come meet our Elder Office Queen!

Lulu is officially ready for college football season🏈 This former shelter girl was once a proud Georgia Bulldogs fan, but everything changed when she found her forever family. Now she’s living her best life in Missouri with Clint & Debbie and rocking her Mizzou Tigers shirt. She may have traded red & black for black & gold, but one thing hasn’t changed: Lulu is still such a special girl, forever near & dear to our hearts. She is exactly where she’s meant to be - with her perfect family. And that is something we can all cheer for!💛

Just look at this beautiful girl🥹 She is gentle, easy on a leash, and loves treats! She has spent too much of her life on a chain and in the shelter, so we really hope that changes soon! If you could provide a loving, patient home for Hope, you’d be her hero (and ours too)! ❤️

Tony is new to the shelter & possibly the most perfect little hippo‑meatball hybrid we’ve ever met. He’s around 1 year old, 65 pounds & built like someone took a bulldog & a loaf of sourdough and said, “Yes. This.” Tony is sweet, goofy & working on his leash skills. He’s been playing well with the female residents. He lived in a home once, so we expect his house‑training skills will come back fast. We are obsessed with his squishy face and are committed to finding him a family who will love him for the delightful, chunky masterpiece he is. Ponch (f/k/a Sanchez) is settling in great with his new pawrents, Brad and Laurie. He left the shelter with them and big fur-sister Lucy and has since become best friends with their other dog, Buddy, as well! He’s pretty much won over the whole pack with his adorable puppy-ness😊 Life is good💛

Taurita is beautiful, but not in a dainty kind of way. Our girl is built of confidence, courage, and girl‑power grit. 💪❤️ She is 2 years old and 66 pounds. She travels in the car like a pro and is ready to be someone’s active best friend!

September is here!!🍂 And with it comes our Volunteer Orientation 🥳
Saturday, September 19th, starting at 12:30pm. If you have ever wondered or thought of how you can get involved. NOW is your chance 🫶 Even if all you have is an hour a week, these sweet fur babies will love you for it!
🐾 Walking Team- Morning or afternoons, just taking the time to take them on a walk around some of the trails near the shelter.
🐾 Playgroups- Morning, getting to learn how our dogs interact with one another.
🐾 Enrichment- Afternoon, getting to know each dog individually. Helping to stimulate their minds and keep them physically active.
🐾 Puppies- Afternoon, helping these babies by socializing, human connection, learning how to play and interact with one another.
🐾 Foster- Crucial roll within our team. A lot of our dogs require some time to either recover from medical attention, others need a stress free environment.
🐾 Events- Bringing the dogs out to our community, building awareness & engagement.

So, come out and get to know where you fit. We have a spot for you! And our dogs can't wait to meet you!

🐾Alumni Update🐾
It’s a double one! Big Reggie & Sweet Cinnamon were in the shelter at different times but they ended up in the same wonderful home with volunteer Sue & her husband, Rob. Reggie was adopted in 2023 & Cinnamon joined the family at the start of 2025. Sue shared this photo of them doing what she says they love best - car rides with mom!🥰 We love seeing their beautiful faces and are so glad they have each other and their fantastic parents! Looking great, guys!💛

Dolly came to us as a stray mama, doing everything she could to keep her babies safe. Now that her puppies are grown, she finally gets her turn — a life that treats her kind, gives her every dream she never had the chance to ask for, and fills her days with joy and happiness.

Above all else… this gentle girl deserves love. 💕
