π¨β€οΈ STOP EVERYTHING. SHEBA GOT ADOPTED. β€οΈπ¨
We have been waiting a LONG time to write these words.
And today...
WE FINALLY GET TO WRITE THEM.
SHEBA HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!! πππΎπ‘
If you've followed us for a while, you know this girl.
You've seen her face on this page.
You've shared her posts.
You've watched us ask, again and again, for someone to see what all of us already knew.
Sheba was somebody's dog.
We just didn't know whose yet.
She waited.
And waited.
And waited some more.
There were days when we wondered why.
Why hadn't anyone chosen her yet?
How could a dog so loved by the people who knew her still be waiting?
But while Sheba waited, she was never waiting alone.
She had some absolutely incredible fosters who opened their homes to her, loved her, cared for her and gave her a break from shelter life.
They let her sleep in a home.
They learned the little things that made Sheba Sheba.
And most importantly, they reminded her that while her forever family was taking their sweet time finding her... πβ€οΈ
she was already deeply loved.
Today, all that waiting ended.
Look at this picture.
Seriously.
LOOK AT HER. πβ€οΈ
Sitting right between her new family like that's exactly where she has always belonged.
Because maybe it is.
This is the part of animal sheltering that makes every hard day worth it.
Sometimes the dog who has been waiting the longest just needs us to keep going.
One more post.
One more share.
One more foster.
One more introduction.
One more day.
Until eventually, somebody walks through the door and everything changes.
To Sheba's fosters: thank you.
You were part of the bridge between her shelter kennel and this photograph. What you gave her mattered more than you will ever know.
To every person who shared her, talked about her, loved her, walked her, rooted for her and refused to let the world forget about her:
THIS ONE'S FOR YOU. β€οΈ
And to Sheba's new family...
Thank you for choosing the girl who waited.
Thank you for looking at her and saying,
βShe's the one.β
Sweet Sheba, you've been a Bayou girl for a long time.
But tonight...
YOU'RE HOME. π‘β€οΈπΎ
And suddenly, that long wait doesn't feel quite so long anymore.
HAPPY TAILS, SHEBA!!! πβ€οΈππΎ
Now somebody check on the staff because WE ARE NOT OKAY. ππβ€οΈ
