We could use help restocking supplies at the shelter

🐾❤️ WE NEED YOUR HELP RESTOCKING MEDICAL SUPPLIES! ❤️🐾

We're running low on some everyday essentials at Bayou Animal Services, and we're hoping our wonderful community can help!

❤️ Flea prevention
❤️ Heartworm prevention
❤️ Syringes
❤️ Syringe caps

These supplies may seem small, but they make a BIG difference in keeping our shelter animals healthy and our hardworking staff safe.

Every animal that comes through our doors deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Sometimes, love looks like a warm blanket and a gentle hug. Other times, it looks like a little dose of prevention. ❤️

Because keeping them healthy is one more way we show them they're worth it.🐾

If you can help us restock, we'd be incredibly grateful!

Tod is a loving boy looking for his forever family. He shouldn't be Homeless anymore!!

HOW IS TOD THE BOD STILL HOMELESS?! 😭❤️

Seriously. Look at this résumé.

🏡 House trained
🐾 Crate trained
👧 Great with kids
🐕 LOVES other dogs
🎉 Social Pack Approved
🦴 Treat motivated
❤️ Loves people
💪 Heartworm treatment COMPLETE!

Tod isn't just “dog friendly.” This boy has a social life. 😂 He plays in our doggy playgroups several times a week and absolutely comes alive when he's out there running, wrestling and hanging with his friends.

He's 50 pounds of happy, affectionate, goofy goodness.

And somehow...

he keeps watching other dogs go home.

That's the part that hurts.

Tod has done everything we've asked of him. He went through heartworm treatment. He's learned the routine. He's made friends. He's shown us over and over again what an incredible family dog he can be.

Now he just needs someone to see him.

Not as another shelter dog.

Not as another kennel to walk past.

But as their dog. 🥹

Come meet Tod the Bod.

We have loved him long enough. It's somebody else's turn. ❤️🏡

He was Adopted!
🍯🐾 Meet Butterscotch! 🐾🍯

This sweet little guy is believed to be about 5 months old and around 14 lbs, and he is just as adorable as his name! 💛

Butterscotch is currently living in a foster home, where he’s learning all the important puppy essentials. His foster mom says he is a smart little pup, and having furry siblings around has been such a wonderful learning experience for him!

🐶 Dog-friendly and learning how to:

- Play appropriately with other dogs
- Share toys and enjoy playtime with both dogs and people
- Follow basic commands, including sit
- Learn through positive reinforcement — he is definitely treat motivated! 🦴
- Being a good boy with house training — he doesn’t chew things he shouldn’t
- Work on his potty training outside and understand how to use a puppy pad for inside
- Loves to cuddle with his people.

Because Butterscotch is learning so much from his furry foster siblings, he would do best in a home with another friendly, playful dog who can continue to help him learn and grow. 🐾❤️

Butterscotch is already microchipped and vaccinated, and he will be neutered soon.

He’s off to such a great start, and we can’t wait to see him find the family he deserves! 🏡🐾

If you’d like to meet this sweet boy, submit an adoption application. Once your application is received and approved, his foster mom can get in touch with you to arrange a meet and greet.

🍯 Apply to adopt with Bayou Animal Services & Adoption Center, Butterscotch and give this sweet little guy the forever home he’s been waiting for!🐶💛

She is very sweet. Very well behaved for a husky.

He is a very sweet loving kitty too.

This handsome cat is Richie. He is ready to leave shelter life behind and find himself a cozy bed by a window where he can lounge around and watch the birds.

Richie is about 5 years old and spent most of his life living on the streets. About two months ago, he came to us with some pretty bad wounds around his ears that were caused from ear mites. Richie had a rough start, but he has been such a trooper through it all. We got him neutered, vaccinated, treated his ear mites, and gave him the extra time and medications he needed to heal. Now he is all healed up and ready to find a home!

This morning, we found Richie cuddled up with one of his toys on his bed, looking pretty handsome and very comfortable. After everything he has been through, we would love to see him spend the next chapter of his life somewhere warm, safe, and cozy. 🐱
If Richie sounds like your kind of cat, come meet him! We’re open Tuesday–Saturday, 10 AM–5 PM.
