🐾💜 WISHLIST WEDNESDAY! 💜🐾

Things have been a little hectic around here lately, but the rescue never stops! Between caring for our current babies and making sure everyone has full bellies, we’re running LOW on PUPPY & KITTEN FOOD! 🐶🐱

Our tiniest residents depend on us for every meal, and we could really use a little help restocking our supplies! 🥹💕

Whether you can donate a bag, send a case, or simply share this post, every little bit makes a difference for the little lives counting on us. 💜

🐾 Our biggest needs right now:
🍼 Puppy food
🐱 Kitten food

If you can help us keep those little bellies full, we would be so grateful! And if donating isn’t possible right now, sharing this post helps us reach someone who might be able to. ❤️

Thank you for continuing to show up for our rescue babies, week after week. We truly couldn’t do this without our village! 🐾💜

Let’s fill some bowls! 🥣

On a good note we also pulled Huey thanks to his foster for stepping up! Huey was suspected to be HBC and have a fractured pelvis however he is walking normally and no breaks have been seen on x-rays. He’s just a scared shy, little man who needs time to heal and patience and love.

If you pledged on his post you can honor them

Monday we picked up sweet Mila from the shelter, close call to her end of day deadline. She has a prolaspe, 1/9 body score…. instestines already dying. She wouldn’t have survived any kind of surgery in her condition. We had to do the kindest thing, as she needed help weeks ago, and let her fly free. Fly high sweet Mila, sorry no one got you help sooner, this was so preventable. 🌈 🪽💔🐾

A quick heads-up for our Orange County residents.

Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) will be temporarily modifying stray animal intake beginning Monday, October 5th, for approximately one week. Construction crews will be working on infrastructure leading to the shelter’s pet receiving area.

During this temporary period:

•OCAS will ONLY accept stray animals with urgent medical needs or concerning behavior.
•Healthy, friendly stray pets should not be brought to the shelter during this brief construction period.
•If you find a healthy, friendly stray, please try to reunite them with their family or safely care for them temporarily until normal intake resumes.
•Adoptions and other essential shelter services will continue as normal.

A few helpful resources for lost and found pets include the Orange County Animal Services Lost & Found Pet Forum and Petco Love Lost, both of which can help connect pets with their families.

And if you've been thinking about adding a furry friend to your family, this is a great time to visit OCAS and consider adoption. Hundreds of dogs and cats are currently waiting for homes, and every adoption helps create space for another animal in need.

The temporary intake change is expected to last about one week. It’s a short-term inconvenience as construction moves forward on the new shelter.

Please share this information with family, friends and neighbors so everyone knows what to expect. And stay tuned to our social media for updates as construction progresses.
