PAWS Atlanta will be closed to the public on Monday, September 7 for Labor Day. Our staff will still be caring for our animals, but all adoptions, appointments, and visitors will resume on Tuesday.

At 14 years old, Japan is ready for a second chance. 🐈‍⬛

Well, really, a third chance. Japan was adopted from us a while ago and was returned back to the shelter in 2021. He was adopted again a few months later, but last year, he came back to us again because his owner had unexpected health challenges. Japan knows the love of a home, and we want so badly for him to find it again. ❤️

Japan is doing wonderfully in his foster home, enjoying his catnip toys, couch naps, and his favorite tube treats. He's a perfect gentleman 🥰 and he knows the ropes: litterbox manners, dinnertime routine, greeting guests, he's got it all down to an art. Plus, his adoption fee is already covered by a secret admirer.

Japan is lucky to have had so much love in his life, and we want him to continue to know the comfort of home all through his golden years. 🚨 WE NEED PET FOOD! 🚨

We know it's only been a few weeks since we asked for your help with our Pet Food Bank, but it's already empty again. 💔 Every day we get calls and visitors asking for pet food, and it breaks our hearts to have to send people away empty handed.

Our Pet Food Bank is entirely funded by people like you. While we wish we had the ability to fill it ourselves, with the rising prices of pet food, we need to use the resources we do have to feed our shelter pets.

THANK YOU to our friends at Furballs Cat Rescue for donating 10 cat traps to PAWS! ❤️

After receiving a big trap donation, they offered to send a few our way and we’re so grateful. As we work to expand our spay/neuter and community cat services, we’re going to need more reliable traps, and this donation is helping us start out on the right foot.

📢 WE NEED TOWELS!

The shelter is in need of full-size, bath or beach towels! We use dozens of towels daily, and we also have to throw some of them away each day to keep everyone clean, healthy, and sanitary.

Right now, we have plenty of hand towels and washcloths, but we're running very low on larger towels. We use them to line kennels, transport pets, care for newborns, and keep our clinic clean. If you have some old towels to spare, you can drop them off at 📍 5287 Covington Hwy any time! They don't need to be spotless - holes and slight stains are okay. There's a donation bin right outside the front gate, or if you arrive during business hours, you can bring them to the main shelter building.

Our animals (and our team) thank you! ❤️
