Stingray had his 3rd ride todayšŸ„°

He had his first 2 rides prior to us adopting him. Once everything became official, I really felt like he needed a mental break and I was now in a position to give him one.

Heā€™s a 7 year old with a 3 year old brain and he had a lot thrown at him in such a short period of time. He went from sitting in a pasture with friends for 7 years to learning EVERYTHING.

He started becoming frustrated easily during our sessions and just kinda taking small things and blowing them out of proportion so I threw him out for a month and said go hang with your friends and Iā€™m so glad I did.

He has been SO easy and willing to do whatever I ask. We worked on ground work, standing tied, ect last week since he cut his leg and this week we will start riding back up!

Ryans Firewater Fame had a good weekend at the Jeanine McMinn Memorial race this year!

16.1 the first night and was just out of the money in Open and Adult. Came back yesterday with a faster time of 15.8 to finish in the Open 2D, Adult 1D and 2D of BBR Xtra

I cannot wait for it to cool down and she get even more of her air back, summers are really hard on her and itā€™s a testament to the amazing athlete she is to clock in the 2D all summerā¤ļø

Stingray had a big milestone yesterday!

His 3rd time EVER in a trailer and first time leaving the barn since we picked him up in April. He walked right in both times!ā¤ļø He was a little unsure of getting out at the race but got out beautifully when we got home.

For the fact that we have not really worked on trailer loading at all itā€™s amazing to see how much trust he has in me to be willing to just get right in.

Coins On Fire loping through a barrel drill today.

This was his first day to lope through ā€œbarrelsā€. I love doing this drill with younger horses to help them work on leg and hand cues around the object without the pressure of making a tight turn.
