There’s always a “what if.”

What if it doesn’t work?
What if he doesn’t come back?
What if it’s just not meant to be?

But what if it DOES?

If you would’ve told me in January that this horse would be back out cross country schooling, I probably would’ve laughed. He could barely trot without hurting.

And now look at him. ❤️

Back at it. Back to work. And hopefully headed to a couple shows this winter to get his feet wet again.

Sometimes you have to stop asking “what if it doesn’t?” and start believing in “what if it works?”

Because what if it does?

Developing young horses is probably my favorite part of this job. There’s nothing better than taking a horse with potential, putting the right program behind them, and watching them start to really figure it out.

Drako is one of my personal horses that I’m especially excited to devote this winter to. I originally started him as a 3 year old for a client and ended up falling in love with him, so naturally… he came home with me 😂

He had some time off this summer after a slight stifle setback, but he’s 100% now and we’re officially back to work.

This winter is going to be about putting miles on him, developing his buttons, building strength and confidence, and seeing just how far we can take him.

And if you have a young horse sitting at home that you want to develop this winter, this is exactly the kind of work I love doing. Whether they need a solid foundation, more miles, a job, or help getting ready for their next step, I love taking the time to really develop the horse instead of rushing the process.

I can’t wait to see where Drako is a couple months from now. This is the fun part. 🤎

TRASHY JACS WARRIOR
2018 APHA Gelding | 14.2H

Indy is the definition of an all-around finished horse.

This is not a prospect waiting to be made. Indy is a finished, experienced horse that you can get on, go ride, and enjoy.

He is quite literally a barn favorite. Indy has an incredibly pleasant personality, perfect ground manners, and is the kind of horse everyone enjoys having around. He clips including his ears and muzzle, ties, bathes, trailers, and handles everything like a gentleman. He is goofy, personable, loves attention, and is all business once you get in the saddle.

Under saddle, Indy has all the buttons.

He has been lightly shown in the ranch, through no fault of his own, and has the ability to be a serious competitor with more mileage. He has his changes, spins, rollbacks, a beautiful lope, a nice stop, side passes, and a willingness to work that is hard to teach.

He absolutely shines outside the arena as well. Indy loves trail obstacles, crosses bridges, goes through water, can be ponied off of, will drag whatever you ask him to, and has been roped off of. Nothing seems to phase him.

And if you want to cross disciplines, Indy makes that easy. He rides English beautifully, has a cute jump, has schooled cross country, and took to it without batting an eye. He carries himself in a lovely frame and has a beautiful extension.

Amateur safe without being boring. Indy is safe enough to give a less experienced rider confidence while still having enough buttons, talent, and versatility to keep a young professional interested. Less experienced not mean no experience btw😊

Shod all the way around with no current maintenance. Full set of X-rays and a previous 2024 PPE available to serious buyers upon request.

Indy is the type of horse you can build a lot of memories with. He is talented, honest, versatile, and genuinely enjoyable to have in your barn. He is not a super beginner horse, so if your just getting back into it after 15 years he’s not for you 😉

SPECTACULAR PIRATE
USEF #5885533 | 8-Year-Old Thoroughbred | Culpeper, VA

Pirate is the kind of horse that makes showing feel easy.

An 8-year-old Thoroughbred with a successful rated hunter/jumper record, Pirate has the experience, talent, and temperament to be a competitive partner for an amateur or professional.

He has a huge jump, an easy lead change, requires minimal prep, and is exceptionally easy to show. He is straightforward to maintain at home and currently has no maintenance. Shod all the way around.

Pirate is uncomplicated to ride and knows his job. He would be a fantastic fit for an amateur looking to move up, a junior rider with a good program, or a professional looking for a talented horse that is ready to go to work. Has scope for the 1.30 and the hunter derbies.

Outside the ring, Pirate is equally versatile. He happily hacks around the trails and has fox hunted in the past.

A genuinely talented, experienced horse with the kind of rideability and show mileage that is hard to find.
