Angel Ridge Veterinary Service Angel Ridge Veterinary Service is a small animal and equine practice in Crescent Oklahoma. Hi, I am the owner and veterinarian, Darcy Smith D.V.M.

I obtained my bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics Farm and Ranch Management from Oklahoma State University in 1998 and graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. After graduation I worked in a mixed animal practice in Lindsay, Oklahoma for 7 years. When our family moved to Crescent in 2009 I joined a small animal and equine practice in Edmond. In June of 2012 we decided to open our own veterinary practice as Angel Ridge Veterinary Service in Crescent. In our free time our family enjoys camping, mountain biking and horseback ridding.

Farm and working dogs have nutritional needs that most standard dog food isn't designed to meet. 🐕

Dogs that are active on a farm, whether they're herding, guarding, or just covering a lot of ground daily, burn significantly more calories than the average house pet and have higher protein and fat requirements to support that output.

If your farm dog is on the same bag of food as a dog that spends most of its time on a couch, it might be worth a second look. 👀

Fall hiking season is officially here. 🍂🐾

Before you hit the trails this month, a quick gear check goes a long way. Make sure your pup's harness fits snugly with no slipping, their leash is in good shape, and their ID tags are current.

A well-fitted harness gives you better control on uneven terrain and keeps them comfortable all hike long. Stop in and we can help you make sure everything is trail ready! 🙌

September energy, honestly. 🍂

The heat is finally starting to back off. The animals are more comfortable. The mornings feel different. There's a certain exhale that happens on the farm when the season shifts and everything just settles a little.

Those eyes have seen a thousand adventures and they're ready for a thousand more. 🐾🤍

Senior dogs have this quiet, steady kind of energy that is impossible not to love. As the season changes and the air gets crisp, there's something extra special about slowing down and just being present with an older pup. 🍂

The myth that cats can't be trained is just that, a myth. Cats respond really well to short, positive training sessions using treats as motivation. 🐱🧡

Start with simple behaviors like sit, high five, or target touch and build from there. The secret is keeping it fun and always ending on a win!

There is no one on this earth more committed than a dog who wants the ball. September evenings were made for this kind of energy. 🎾

Get outside while the weather is still gorgeous and let your pup have the best Tuesday of their life.

Is your dog more of a fetch person or do they just run after it and refuse to bring it back? 🐾
