Every wagging tail, every cozy nap, and every happy ending starts with a foster home. ❤️

Foster homes are the backbone of Almost Home Rescue. Many of the dogs who come into our care are arriving directly from overcrowded shelters and stressful situations. They need a safe place to decompress, learn how to be part of a family, and prepare for their forever home.

As a foster parent, you’ll provide:
🏡 A safe and loving environment
🐾 Guidance with basic manners and house training
❤️ Patience, compassion, and stability during their transition

Almost Home Rescue provides:
✔️ All medical care and veterinary expenses
✔️ Training classes when needed
✔️ Ongoing support from our rescue team

The only thing we can’t provide is a home, and that’s where YOU come in!

This sweet face could be the next dog waiting for a chance. One foster home can literally save a life and open a kennel space for another dog in need.

Aggie is a beautiful Cane Corso who has been through more than her fair share lately, and is ready to find a family of her own.

This sweet girl is affectionate, loyal, and loves being close to her people. She has a gentle, soulful personality and will happily trade kisses and cuddles for a cozy spot on the couch. Aggie is looking for a home where she can continue to thrive and be loved as much as she loves in return.

Recently, Aggie underwent emergency surgery after swallowing part of a dog toy. Thankfully, she made a full recovery and is feeling great! Now all that’s missing is a forever family to call her own.

James’ first day at RIC! 😉 Just kidding… but he did have his very first meet and greet today, and he was fantastic! 🐾

Meet James! He is a 2-year-old Poodle/Doberman/Akita mix looking for his perfect forever home.

James was originally adopted into a home with other dogs through another rescue. While he is a wonderful dog, he has been struggling with sharing his home with other animals. After a lot of thought and love, his owner has made the difficult decision to help James find a home where he can truly thrive.

James is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and was recently seen by his veterinarian for a check up. He is loving, playful, eager to learn, and absolutely loves spending time with people.

If you’re looking for an easy going companion who would prefer to be your one-and-only furry friend, James may be the perfect match! ❤️

Adoptable James spent the day getting groomed, and we think he knows just how good he looks. Just look at that smile! 😍

James is a young, playful guy who loves people and is ready to find a home of his own. He’s smart, adorable, and always up for an adventure— or a trip to Lowe’s to show off his new haircut.

This sweet boy would love a family where he can be the star of the show and soak up all the attention he deserves. We’re hoping his fresh start comes with a forever family.

🛟 James needs help! 🛟

James' owner has informed us of her intention to bring him to a shelter where he will be humanely euthanized. James had an unfortunate incident with a 6lb dog who did not make it.

If you are interested in helping him, please contact us and we will put you in touch with the owner. James was adopted as a puppy from a rescue organization that said they are unable to accept him back.

He is a two-year-old mix of Poodle, Akita, and Doberman. According to his owner, it is not recommended that he live with other animals. James exhibits a prey drive and enjoys chasing creatures in the yard.

We have had the opportunity to interact with James on several occasions, and he enjoys companionship. He wants to be someone’s pal.

****If anyone from his original rescue organization recognizes him and can help, please contact your adopter! You imported him to RI and collected an adoption fee, just sayin’.

James is scheduled to be brought to a shelter on Tuesday.

UPDATE ON AGGIE 🩷

We have the BEST possible news for our sweet girl. During surgery, the team found a large squeaker from a toy lodged in Aggie’s small intestines. Thankfully, the surgeon was able to carefully fold it in half and gently maneuver it into her colon, meaning NO incision into her intestines was needed!

This was truly the best case scenario and we are beyond relieved. Aggie is recovering well and COMING HOME TO US TONIGHT! 🐾

We cannot thank everyone enough for the donations, shares, prayers, and support today. Because of you, Aggie got the emergency care she desperately needed.

We also want to thank Love Is Life Veterinary Clinic for saving Aggie today. We will be partnering with them for future rescue veterinary needs so we can continue helping dogs like Aggie when urgent situations arise.

🚨 HELP NEEDED FOR AGGIE 🚨

Sweet Aggie, our gentle giant, is currently fighting for her life. 💔 After becoming sick, she was rushed to Tufts in Walpole, MA this morning where imaging confirmed she has a foreign object causing an obstruction in her lower abdomen.

After spending over $1,000 just for emergency diagnostics and stabilization, Aggie is now being transported to another emergency veterinary hospital in Franklin, MA for emergency surgery TODAY. Without surgery, this obstruction can quickly become life threatening.

Aggie is such a loving, gentle soul who deserves every chance at a healthy life and future adoption. We are doing everything we can for her, but the rescue cannot cover this unexpected emergency alone.
