❤️ 🐾Meet Destiny 🐾❤️

Sometimes life throws challenges at good people that are completely beyond their control.

Due to a devastating house fire, Destiny's family lost everything and made the heartbreaking decision to surrender her so she can have the stability, comfort, and love she deserves. We know this was not an easy choice, and our hearts are with them during this incredibly difficult time.

Now we're hoping to help Destiny find her next chapter.

At 5 years old, Destiny is a beautiful girl with a sweet personality and what we can only describe as highly selective hearing. 😂 Seriously, getting good pictures of her was a challenge because she had absolutely no interest in paying attention to me. She acted like ignoring me was her full-time job!

Her family tells us she enjoys playing with toys, even though she wasn't interested in showing off her playful side during our photo session. She lived successfully with a small Chihuahua and did well, so she has experience living with other dogs. As always, meet-and-greets are required for any potential canine siblings.

She's house-trained, affectionate, and has a wonderfully balanced personality. She'll get a little burst of energy, stretch her legs, and then she's perfectly content to settle in for cuddles and companionship. If you're looking for a loyal best friend to share your couch, your heart, and your daily adventures, Destiny may be your girl.

She's understandably facing a lot of change right now, and we'd love nothing more than to help her find a forever home as quickly as possible so she doesn't have to spend any longer in the shelter than necessary.

✨ Happy Adoption Update: Tinkerbell (now Nami)! ✨

We absolutely love receiving updates like this!

Tinkerbell, now known as Nami, is thriving in her new home and has settled in beautifully with her family. She warmed up to everyone almost immediately and was already showing off her goofy personality on her very first night.

Her family says she fits right in with their playful household. She's become quite the little character, nudging mom with her nose when the kids aren't looking and then acting completely innocent when they come back into the room. 😂

Nami is fully potty trained and lets her family know when she needs to go out by sitting by the door. She's learned her new name, knows several commands, and is working on perfecting her manners when excitement takes over. She's also keeping everyone smiling with her adorable happy hops whenever meals or snacks are involved.

When it's time to relax, Nami's favorite place is right next to her people. In fact, she refuses to sleep unless she's touching her mom. ❤️

Her family is continuing to work on leash walking and helping her build confidence around the household cats, but she is doing wonderfully overall.

Stories like Nami's remind us why we do what we do. Thank you to her amazing family for opening their hearts and giving this sweet girl the loving home she deserves. We couldn't be happier for her!

This girl is still waiting for her forever home—and we’re honestly shocked she hasn’t been scooped up yet.

Pepper was pulled from our shelter by the incredible team at Lab Rescue of Greater Richmond when she needed help most. They got her healthy, stable, and ready for her next chapter… now she just needs someone to finally choose her.

She may need slow, proper introductions—she’s been showing some leash reactivity, but foster notes suggest she can be social with other dogs once introduced appropriately.

She is also on thyroid medication, which she manages with routine care like a champ.

🐾Casey is ready to find her forever human! 🐾

This 1-year-old sweetheart just spent the last two days at the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office—and let’s just say… she absolutely worked the room. Everyone had nothing but glowing things to say about her. Sweet, chill, smart, and apparently very committed to her new side hustle: professional hug distributor 🤍

Casey is the kind of girl who:
✨ Knows “sit” and “paw” like a pro
✨ Walks beautifully on a leash
✨ Makes her rounds checking in on everyone (attention? maybe. love? definitely.)
✨ Brings calm, gentle energy wherever she goes

She does prefer the spotlight all to herself—Casey would do best as the only dog in the home. She can handle brief, polite dog introductions, but she’s not into dogs in her space or crowding her vibe. So no multi-dog homes and no dog parks for this lady.

🐾 Breed guess: likely Shepherd/Lab mix, but she was abandoned so it’s our best guess
🐾 Age: 1 year
🐾 Personality: affectionate, people-focused, and surprisingly polished for someone who clearly never got the “don’t hug strangers at work” memo

* 3:30 PM: Last seen near friend’s home on Chesterfield Ave (Courthouse area)
* Tracked through woods near E. Westover Ave & Conduit Rd
* Seen at Flora Hill Park (Lafayette Ave & Westover Ave)
* After 6:30 PM: Spotted running toward Boulevard near McDonald’s (1101 Boulevard)
* Heavy rain began shortly after final sighting
