The Colonial Heights Animal Shelter is a city run shelter that takes in, houses, cares for, and adopts out dogs, cats, and other small companion animals. We are a small shelter that does our best to find loving homes for the animals in our care. The Colonial Heights Animal Control Office/Shelter is located at 301 Charles Dimmock Parkway. **We are currently operating by *APPOINTMENT ONLY* Please

💔 This is a difficult situation, but Purrl is looking for a new home through no fault of her own.

Purrl and her sister Nonie have lived together peacefully until just a few weeks ago. For reasons their owner cannot explain, something suddenly changed and the two girls began having serious issues with each other. Unfortunately, they can no longer peacefully live together.

After careful consideration, Purrl's owner has decided to keep Nonie and find Purrl a loving new home where she can be the only cat. ❤️

Purrl is coming up on 2 years old and is a very sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely loves her people. She is the more people-oriented and snuggly of the two and wants to be close to her human. 🥰

🩶 ABOUT PURRL:
🐾 Very sweet and affectionate
🐾 Loves to snuggle and be with her person
🐾 Loves making biscuits — LOTS of biscuits! 😂
🐾 Great with her litter box
🐾 No food issues
🐾 Recently received her vaccinations and is current for the next 11+ months
🐾 Almost 2 years old

🏠 Purrl needs to be the ONLY cat in the home. This isn't because she is a bad cat or because she has always had problems with other cats. She and Nonie lived together peacefully until recently, but something changed between them and the owner feels it is best for Purrl to have a home where she doesn't have to share her space with another cat.

Her owner loves Purrl very much and wants to make sure she goes to someone who will love and care for her just as much. ❤️

🏠 Shrimp & Scampi are looking for a new home through no fault of their own. Their owner loves them very much and has raised them since they were babies — before their eyes even opened. They are a bonded pair, and their owner would very much like to see them stay together.

🐱 Both are neutered, do not spray, and are full-time indoor cats. They have never had any experience being outside.

🧡 SHRIMP — the orange one
Shrimp is a total cuddle bug who loves being held and cuddled like a little teddy bear. He even enjoys being stretched out and held like a baby. ❤️ He definitely has the occasional orange cat mentality… but honestly, what orange cat doesn’t? 😂

🩶 SCAMPI — the grey one
Scampi is a little more on the skittish side, especially with new people, but he is just as sweet as can be. He loves coming up for cuddles when you're relaxing on the couch. He will simply need a little more time and patience to warm up to someone new.

🐾 THEY MUST GO TOGETHER.
These two have been together their whole lives and are very loved. Their owner would also love to remain in contact with whoever adopts them.

Looking for a fun-loving pup who is always ready for an adventure? Meet Wally! 🐶

Wally is an adorable Terrier mix, about 8 months–1 year old and weighing around 25 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated and is READY to find his forever home! 🏡❤️

🐾 Wally is:

✨ Friendly & playful

🐕 Loves playing with other dogs

🐱 Great with cats

🎾 OBSESSED with fetch & tug-of-war

🚗 Great riding in the car

🌳 Loves parks and exploring

🥰 Loves snuggling after playtime

🍗 VERY food motivated!

Wally is one of those pups who has lots of energy and lots of love to give. He loves running in circles, jumping off the steps, burrowing under blankets, enjoying pup cups, and even crunching on ice cubes! 😂🧊

He already knows his name, “sit,” and “give paw,” and he’s working hard on “lay down,” “speak,” and keeping all four paws on the floor. He’s also doing great with house training and will go to the door when he needs to go outside! 🥰

Wally walks well but does best with a harness. He would love a family who will keep him active, continue his training, and give him plenty of attention. He definitely prefers being with his people rather than being left alone all day. ❤️

He may be a little goofy and energetic, but underneath all that puppy fun is a sweet boy who just wants to be loved. 🥹💙
