My personal rule of thumb:

✅Ecollar every day, for everything for
✨4-6 MONTHS✨
✅Ecollar the first time, every time even if your dog “already knows it” and was “going to do it”
✨The Ecollar is a language I want all of your dogs to be proficient in, and that means using it to communicate always, even if you think your dog already understands you.✨
✅After the 4-6 months, the Ecollar becomes a seat belt.
✨Still wearing it every day, we have it if we need it but we’re not using it for everything✨

⚠️Trust me, I KNOW 4-6 months seems long and daunting but it is a BLIP of your dogs life.

Stick with me for that length of time and you’ll have a forever changed dog.

🛑People see struggle and back sliding when they forgoe it he progress and are sporadic with their communication and boundaries, and it’ll take much longer to get to your end goal.

It take time, patience and effort to have a well trained dog which isn’t always easy.

But it also isn’t as hard as most make it out to be.

Not gonna lie, my first thought was that Ein was being a GIANT BRAT because he’s been restricted for a month due to injury.

But when I stopped and thought about it and the behavior repeated only on the same spot of fur, I decided to investigate further; and I’m glad I did!

Sometimes dogs really, truly are being bratty.
Using teeth to communicate when they don’t like or want to do something is wildly common.

But sometimes, the cause is an injury or a source of pain-especially if it’s completely abnormal for your dog.

This is why regular grooming and handling is so important. You’ll be able to quickly discern when something isn’t quite right, and get to fixing it 🫶🏻

It’s a labby world, I’m just livin’ in it 🌎

Taking advantage of the beautiful weather and the trail system on our property and truly living life to the fullest with all of the dogs.

Maverick lives on a lake so will be doing a ton of hiking/swimming and he’s proving to be a really lovely trail dog, at SUCH a YOUNG age 🤍

✅I DO use slow feeder bowls…for my dogs that DON’T actually need them.

I use them to provide extra enrichment for meals, and to make meals last longer.

🛑I DON’T use slow feeder bowls for dogs who:

✔️Eat in a frenzied, hectic manner
✔️Have resource guarding issues

✨If your dog is already feeling a sense of urgency or conflict around food, adding in something that is going to make it harder and take longer for them to eat isn’t the way to go.

‼️I understand there are safety reasons for slowing down a dog while eating. If this is the case, I will typically “float” a dog’s food in water or add things like duck necks, rabbit ears etc that take longer to chew.
