There's a saying that riding horses and having horses are two different hobbies, chronic illness makes that even more distinct. I didn't make it through the day with energy to spare for any training but instead of just getting through my chores and heading inside to crash, I chose to just enjoy my horses and the beautiful weather for a while. I spent some time remembering that everything around me is practically a lifetime of answered prayers. God has been so faithful! Little me dreamed of lots of exciting rides and competitions but honestly I think this kind of evening is actually what she wanted most. Just a girl and her horses 💕🙏

We are trying to gauge whether there is interest in pre-riding classes or events for young children. The goal of the class or events would be to get little ones comfortable around horses in small ways and get them excited about all things nature and agriculture. Topics would include safety, brushing, horse colors, horse food, and feeding the horses.

Happy Sunday morning everyone!
Come with me to mix some feed. But only halfway because my phone runs out of storage space 😂

All of my horses eat a forage based diet of beet pulp and alfalfa meal (it soaks faster than pellets) with the exception of Zeke who is still on traditional grain though I would like to change that at some point. Last time I tried it did not go well but I know a lot more about nutrition now and about him and what he needs to maintain his body.

I'm sorry, is this the same Jasper!?! Look at him using his whole brain!! 🥹❤️🤗 I would squeeze him but he hates that 😂
In all seriousness this was an amazing session and even Greenwalt Equine who has been our behavior consultant and coach for quite some time now did not recognize him when I first sent the videos. Julia works with Jasper really well, they have such a great rhythm and ease of communication with one another! This is the kind of stuff that makes me love my job so much!

What a fun day camp we had today! These two sisters came out and got to spend their first ever day with horses. They each cleaned a stall (look how clean Kat's got!), filled hay nets, watered the horses, and made and fed them breakfast. Then we took a little snack break and made a camp favorite of pony popsicles (Popsicles that the horses can eat)! They learned how to groom and lead their horses, and we went over all the safety stuff throughout the day. After lunch we made pool noodle horses who were affectionately named Juice Box and Macaroni! Then they each got to ride Zeke a little bit and then we closed out the day by feeding the horses, their popsicles and playing with their pool noodle horses in the sprinkler! A very successful camp!
