Dogs being neutral to other dogs doesn’t happen accidentally. It takes work and effort. If every time your dog sees another dog, they see it as an opportunity for FreePlay, they will always rush to play with other dogs. If your goal is to be able to sit quietly on a patio or walk down the street without your dogs, pulling you to other dogs… That takes work. It is easy to get Dogs to play with one another. Neutrality takes work!

🐾 HELP US FIND SHASTA HER FOREVER HOME 🐾

At Ridgeside K9 NorCal, one of our favorite community partnerships is with Butte Humane Society. Through this program, we donate a month of training to shelter dogs who have spent an extended period of time waiting for a family of their own.

Meet Shasta.

Over the last month, Shasta has worked hard learning the skills that will help her succeed in a home. She has improved her obedience, manners, confidence, and ability to remain calm around distractions. But that’s only part of her story.

Shasta has learned to jog next to a bicycle, play fetch, conquer our confidence course, tackle agility obstacles, and enjoy adventures with our trainers. Most importantly, she has shown us that she loves being part of a family—whether that’s joining us on an outing or curling up on the couch for some well-earned snuggle time.

Now Shasta’s training program is coming to an end. If she isn’t adopted, she’ll return to the shelter to continue waiting for her forever family.

We know her people are out there somewhere.

Congratulations, Morty! 🎓

This happy boy has officially graduated from our 5-Week Board & Train Program!

Morty came to us to build impulse control, improve his leash manners, develop reliable obedience, and learn how to remain calm and neutral around distractions. Like many enthusiastic dogs, Morty found the world incredibly exciting—walks were often filled with barking, pulling, and a constant search for the next adventure, making it difficult for him to stay focused and connected with his handler.

Through consistent structure, clear communication, and balanced training, Morty discovered that slowing down and looking to his handler for guidance makes life far more rewarding. He learned that calmness and self-control open the door to greater freedom, and that staying engaged with his owner is just as exciting as anything happening around him.

Today, Morty is walking with confidence, making better choices, and enjoying the world with a much more balanced state of mind. We are incredibly proud of the progress he has made and can’t wait to see all the adventures ahead for him!

“Shasta” is ready for adoption and she comes with FREE training!!! She is a super sweet girl who loves affection and cuddles!! She also love walks and playtime!! She has been in the shelter for over a year and absolutely deserves to live an amazing life in a home! Special thanks to for letting us come hang out today!!
