Today we would like to highlight one of our amazing employees, Logan. Logan has been with us for TEN YEARS and still treats every day as a gift. Logan is eternally positive. She has dealt with every weather or transportation issue gracefully and with a smile. Logan is truly one of those people that is a true animal lover. Whether cat or dog, she has a way of communicating with them that puts them at ease. She is one of the employees I know I can count on to get even the most scared dogs on leash! There is not a day that goes by that we don’t appreciate Logan. Logan’s bio is below. If you see her, give her a shout out for being a wonderful human:)

Logan started at DDI 10 years ago when she moved to Chicago from her home state of Minnesota. Though she is professed to be a “cat person” at heart she is excited to have gotten to meet and care for so many lovely pups over the years. A bit quiet, but focused and efficient when it comes to the animals placed in her care, she wants to provide the same level of care and comfort that she’d hope someone would give when looking after her own cats.

Today we would like to highlight Lena, one of our extraordinary employees.

There are some employees that I have the opportunity to get to know more than others. I am so happy to rave about one of these employees, Lena, that I’ve developed such a wonderful relationship with.

Lena has truly seen DDI through its ups and downs. She has weathered COVID, the polar vortex and every inclement weather condition possible. For 8 years, I have been able to call on Lena in any emergency scenario, and she still answers my calls and offers to help:) For anyone that manages employees, you know how difficult it can be to find folks that are consistently there to help even when it’s inconvenient for them. Lena is this employee - my go-to person and for that, I’m eternally grateful and able to sleep at night knowing she will always be there to help.

We asked Lena for a brief bio which is listed below.

“I’ve been working here since I moved down for college in 2018 and I absolutely love the job, I’ve gotten to see the city from a bike and met so many incredible people along the way! I do art in my free time when I’m not working, and love spend my days off with my own pets or taking in the cities food and views!”
