Just had to share this adorable photo of Holly and Essa! These two beautiful girls are currently enjoying life together in the same wonderful foster home. Essa is a newer arrival and recently came to us from our kennel facility, but she has already settled in nicely.

Both Holly and Essa are available for adoption and looking for families of their own. If you’re considering adding a furry companion to your home, be sure to check out their profiles using the links below to learn more about their personalities, needs, and what makes each of them so special.

Meet SHRNM’s newest members, Sutton and Sailor!

These two handsome boys have officially left death row behind and are beginning a new chapter with us. Both are approximately 2½ years old, and we think they may have some German Shepherd mixed in with their Husky good looks.

They have already visited the vet for vaccinations and will be neutered soon. As they settle in, we’ll be learning more about their personalities and sharing updates along the way.

A huge thank you to for helping pull these boys from the shelter and transporting them safely to Albuquerque. Your dedication to the dogs of Roswell has saved countless lives, and we are incredibly grateful for your partnership.

Keep your eye on this page—we can’t wait to introduce you to Sutton and Sailor and share their journey with you!

Kazu is a stunning 6-year-old Husky with a striking black-and-white coat and captivating heterochromatic eyes—one blue and one brown. This handsome boy is full of joy and has a happy, affectionate personality that shines through wherever he goes.

Kazu loves attention and is highly motivated by treats, likely because regular meals were not always guaranteed during his early years. He spent the beginning of his life living at the end of a chain, but despite that difficult start, he has remained friendly, resilient, and eager to connect with people.

Weighing over 70 pounds, Kazu is a strong and sturdy dog who will benefit from continued training and guidance. Most of all, he needs a loving forever family willing to provide the patience, structure, and support he deserves. With stability, kindness, and plenty of affection, Kazu will continue to build confidence and thrive.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a beautiful spirit and a heart full of love, Kazu may be the perfect addition to your family.

UPDATE: Queenie has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

She was a fighter, but in the end, letting her go was the kindest gift we could give her.

We are so grateful to her forever foster family, who showed her that humans were still worth trusting and loving. Queenie knew what it meant to be cherished, and she returned that love tenfold. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched.

Oso (Bear) has lost his lifelong companion, and her family has lost a dear member of their family. Please keep them in your thoughts as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.

Run free, sweet Queenie. You were loved beyond measure. ❤️🐾

————————————————————————————————
Please keep our senior alumni Queenie, formerly Nikki, in your thoughts and prayers. She is currently at the vet after suddenly becoming unable to get up and walk. When she does try to stand, she collapses. Our biggest concern right now is whether she is in pain. Queenie is now 13.5 years old.

Queenie and her brother came to the rescue in 2023 at 10 years old after being abandoned by a family no longer willing to care for them. Thankfully, our wonderful forever foster family stepped in immediately and has loved and cared for them ever since. A forever foster home is one that essentially adopts the dog, while the rescue continues to help cover medical expenses for the rest of the dog’s life.

Queenie has been deeply loved through every chapter of her life, since she came to the rescue and we are hoping for comfort, answers, and peace for this sweet senior girl.

If you would like to help with Queenie’s vet expenses, please consider making a donation in whatever way works best for you. We will also make this post a fundraiser, or you can find other donation options on our website at https://nmsiberianrescue.com
Every contribution and prayer means so much to Queenie and her foster family.

We have some exciting news — Miya has found her forever home!

Her new family first met her at the United game, where she was one of the mascots, and it was love at first sight. They are excited to become first-time husky owners and have experience with other pets in the past. As you can see from one of the photos, Miya has already found her throne!

Miya originally came to us as a rehome after her previous family became homeless. Through every change over the last few months — from the kennel, to a foster home, and now to her forever home — Miya has shown just how resilient and adaptable she is.

We are so thankful to her new parents for choosing adoption and giving Miya the loving new beginning she deserves. We cannot wait to see all the adventures ahead for this beautiful girl.

After five long years with our rescue, Zeus has finally found the forever home he has always deserved — and we could not be happier for him.

This month has been especially meaningful for Zeus. He celebrated his 8th birthday on the 14th, and now he has started the next chapter of his life with an amazing family.

Zeus originally came to us from a shelter as a stray. Before arriving in rescue, he suffered an injury from a trap that left lasting damage he will live with for the rest of his life. But Zeus has always been a fighter. No matter the challenge, he kept moving forward with strength, resilience, and a loving heart.

For several years, Zeus lived in a kennel before transitioning into a foster home, where he adapted beautifully — just as we knew he would. He never gave up on people, and we never gave up on finding the right people for him.

Now, Zeus has a wonderful new family with three little doggie siblings and parents who understand and love the husky breed. After losing their last husky earlier this year, they opened their hearts again to a senior dog with so much love left to give.

We are absolutely over the moon for Zeus. His story is a reminder that it is never too late for a rescue dog to find happiness, comfort, and a family of their own.

Thank you to Zeus’s new parents for giving this deserving senior boy the life he has waited so patiently for. We are especially grateful that this wonderful family is already part of our rescue community, volunteering their time to photograph and walk our dogs. That means we will still get to see Zeus regularly and watch him enjoy the happy life he has always deserved.

We cannot wait to see all the love, comfort, and adventures ahead for him.

Today is National Rescue Dog Day. Please consider honoring rescue dogs in the following ways:

Volunteer at your local shelter. Taking dogs for walks, helping with grooming, and giving them affection and attention can greatly improve their socialization and quality of life.

Rescues and shelters are always in need of donations. Financial support is invaluable, but many shelters also rely on everyday supplies such as blankets, bleach, toys, treats, food, and leashes.

If you have room in your life for a rescue dog, consider adoption and giving a deserving dog a forever home.

Fostering is another incredible way to help. Many dogs need medical care, recovery time, or help adjusting in a home environment before they are ready for adoption.

And most importantly, remember to spay and neuter your pets. Overpopulation remains the number one reason shelters become overcrowded.

We have add a link if you would like to donate to SHRNM. Thank you for your support.
