Casper Humane Society We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal shelter. Proudly serving our community for more than 75 years.

We are a non-profit, no-kill shelter in Casper, Wyoming. We have been a part of our community for over 65 years. As a non-profit, we do not receive any government funding and rely solely on the support of donors. Our role in the community is very important and while many people don't know the extent of our work, on any given day, we are home to more than 100 animals ranging from dogs and cats to guinea pigs, rats, reptiles, and birds. Not only do we provide basic care such as feeding and cleaning their living space, it is important to us that our animals receive spaying/neutering, vaccines, deworming, and microchipping, socialization, exercise, positive stimulation, training, and extensive vet care. Our time and attention is necessary to ensure our standards are met and our animals remain happy, healthy, and confident as they search for their new homes. On average, we find homes for nearly 500 animals every year. Our devotion to finding the best placement for each individual enables our ability to maintain a changing population and continue helping others in need. It is our daily goal to ensure animals that come into our care are healthy or nursed back to health and feel love and comfort during a vulnerable time in their lives, with the help of our volunteers alongside our staff, we are able to make this possible. Dakota, Aspen, and Georgia are 3 1/2 month old, Rhodesian Ridgeback mix puppies. If you want to see the ridge, you have to come in to visit. Thems the rules. 😎 Please understand that these are quite literally some of the sweetest puppies we have ever met. EVER. We love them. You will love them. There is no other way, and they will give you every reason to wake up and be a better you just by knowing their innocent eyes are watching. Like, you are looking at your new baby with four legs, and that's not an exaggeration; it's a burst of motivation because they deserve THE BEST. 💪 At such a young age, they demonstrate a great understanding of boundaries, and if you couldn't tell from the pictures, they are attentive wee angels ready to learn and make their new families proud. 🥹 They are working on their basic commands and leash etiquette, and let us tell ya, these are some smart lil' cookies! Their potential is boundless, and we can only imagine what consistency and devotion in loving homes can do! The puppies will mesh well with kiddos, dogs, and cats with proper guidance as they continue to grow. Honestly, they crave attention and will accept every positive form from anyone and anything. 🥰

If you've been looking for a young companion to nurture and build an unbreakable bond, don't forget the shelter will be open from 12 pm - 5 pm tomorrow, and these precious pups will be waiting for their special visitors! 🫶

Say hello to your new bestie! 👋

The smile, the tongue, the scruff. Ivan is obviously undeniably adorable, but did you know he is also P E R F E C T? 💕 This little bug came to us as a stray. We estimate he is about 2 years old, and a wiry pug of sorts. He hasn't denied these claims, so we're rolling with it! If there's one thing you should know about Ivan, it's that he is as lovable as they come. He likes to put on a show in his kennel, but behind this hardened criminal facade, he is just an innocent angel. 😇 He is a cuddler and is always searching for a willing hand to scratch his b***y, and he has no shame. Expect that curly tail to be thrown in your face every time you sit down because our guy has needs, and you'd have to be pretty mean to deny him the attention that keeps his spirit alive. Just sayin'. 👀 When he's not devouring your heart with his gorgeous smile and positive attitude, he does love a good game of fetch. Sunny days, rainy days, snowy days... prepare to be his personal ball thrower. He needs a grassy place to play, lots of room to run, and he has incredible energy to burn. We do think an active owner who will ensure he receives plenty of positive stimulation will suit him best. Ivan is a good boy who deserves the best things. He knows his basic commands, responds well, is loaded with potential, and has many fabulous years of companionship ahead. 🙏 He has done well meeting dogs similar in size, and we will cat test upon your request! His nature is very welcoming, but we haven't seen him with small children.

Ivan will be a fun friend to have around, guaranteed. So, if you've been looking for a smaller dog to fill the void, we think this guy was made just for you! Don't forget to stop by any time during our open hours, and we will be happy to introduce you! ✨

She is beautiful, and she definitely knows it. 💅

Annabelle is THAT girl. She's fluffy and luxurious; her colors are perfectly mixed and matched, and her sass? Well, we're not sure anyone else can compare. 😼 She's 7 years old, knows exactly who she is, and lives up to the Calico reputation with unwavering dedication. But remember, with all of that s***k and boldness comes great loyalty. 🤝 She is strong, independent, and extremely lovable at her discretion. Honestly, her affection feels like an honorable reward, and we're ok with that. Trust issues? More like making sure you are worth her time and energy. Need a lesson in setting respectable boundaries and knowing your self worth? Don't worry, this Queen has got you covered. 🫡 Jokes aside, Anna will form a deep connection with those she trusts. She has a beautiful tenderness in her heart. If you really take the time to let her settle, you'll find that hiding under those fabulous locks and huge attitude is a cat who just wants to be adored, respected, and treated like the irreplaceable bestie that she is. 🙏 She won't be one for hugs and being picked up, but she makes up for all of that with the way those green eyes stare and the harmonious meows that beg for your attention. She hasn't been around other cats, and the reality is, she'll probably do best in a home with older kids, but she will tolerate easygoing dogs. And there ain't nothing wrong with that!

Ok everyone. We are happy to announce that Caramel found her family. And yes, we're crying. So what? 😭

We can't tell you how much love we all grew for this girl. She is bold, strong willed, and thinks she's an 80lb tank, but in reality, she is a 23lb cutie patootie (yeah, please don't tell her we said that). We will miss her kisses, her cuddles, her opinions, and her drive, but we are so happy to see her go to a great home with a few kiddos who will make sure she gets all the ball time and hugs she desires. 🫶

We want to thank Caramel's new family for asking to see her outside of the kennel and giving her the chance she deserves. Truly, very deserved. Your choice to adopt has made a difference, and we wish you all the best!

You may have seen doe eyes, but you've never seen eyes doey-er than this. 🥹

This precious little girly is Kaya, and she is a teeny 3 1/2 year old, 16lb mixed breed. Let us start by saying she is full of potential, and we are really hoping that someone truly special will give her the opportunity she deserves. ❤ She's a tender and innocent soul (umm... the pictures say it all) who really deserves someone's commitment. She LOVES to roll in the grassy play yards, and when she's around, stuffy toys don't stand a dang chance. But the heartbreaking thing about Kaya is that when eyes are on her, she makes herself small. She wants so badly to be a dog, and when she thinks no one is watching, she feels free. And you can tell how happy her heart is to enjoy the life she is living. We can say our staff and volunteers have made great progress, and we believe in her (get it, Queen). 💪 Every day her trust grows. She gets excited to greet people as they approach her kennel. Her tail wags on her short walks. She slowly and quietly approaches for pets, and she's even getting a feel for a lil' bit of cuddling. If this is what can be done in a shelter with devoted handlers, imagine what dedication can do in a patient and loving home. 🤲 We don't know what Kaya has been through; heck, we don't know much about her history at all. We were told she was transported to Wyoming; we don't know where from, and that she was adopted from a rescue. Unfortunately, she wasn't a good fit for the adoptive family, and with nowhere else to go, she made her way here. So, here we are, hoping for new beginnings and a lifetime of happiness. 💝 Kaya does well with dogs and cats, but she will do best in a calm, quiet home (sorry, little kids; you'll have to sit this one out). She doesn't have a mean bone in her body; she just needs to know she will be ok. With time, understanding as she settles, and guidance and reassurance, we have no doubt she will find comfort with her new family and be a very loving and loyal companion. ✨

Don't forget the shelter will be open from 12 pm - 5 pm tomorrow, and Kaya will be waiting for her special visitors.
