Sweetie is pure joy in dog form! Her enthusiasm for even the tiniest things is absolutely contagious. She burns off her zoomies on our slatmills, but she’s never too tired for more love. This girl is ready for a foster or an active forever family who can keep up with her happy spirit. She’s one of our favorites, and we know she’ll shine in the right home. Contact Lake Lowell Animal Rescue to learn more about her.

This confident cutie loves the slatmill! No fear, no hesitation, just pure joy and determination. Stewart is a total rockstar on the slats, and he’s ready to bring that same energy into a loving home. He’s available for foster or adoption. Reach out to Lake Lowell Animal Rescue.

Shiva greets us with that same joyful energy every time, but once she gets to work, she knows her mission. In the beginning, her speed made her look like a natural, but it was a bit deceiving—she’d launch herself toward treats without fully committing to the distance. Over time, she’s put in the effort, built her stamina, and learned to pace herself. Now she consistently covers well over a mile each session, showing just how far she’s come.

Poe and Hawthorne were fantastic in their last session. Hawthorne continues to build his distance bit by bit, while Poe races around at top speed but never stops checking in on his brother. They’re just nonstop adorable energy!

Meet Colby!!! He’s an adorable 8‑month‑old pup with a tender heart. At first, the slatmill made him a little unsure, and he leaned gently against the side for comfort. With every step, though, he grew braver, soaking up all the pets and praise we gave him. He takes treats with such soft manners and sits so beautifully, patiently waiting for affection. Colby is truly a sweetheart. He’s available for adoption. Reach out to Lake Lowell Animal Rescue to learn more about giving this gentle boy a loving home.

Meet Freckles, your new favorite little heart‑melter! At about six months old, he came in a bit unsure of himself, but he caught on to the slatmill almost instantly. Even while focusing hard on his steps (head down), his tail never stopped wagging for attention. He’s a sweet, eager‑to‑please pup who already knows his commands and takes treats with the gentlest manners. For more details, reach out to Lake Lowell Animal Rescue.

Every dog approaches the slatmill in their own way. Some burst with energy and use their sessions to burn off that extra steam. Others are natural loungers who seem to save all their enthusiasm just for the mill. And then there are the steady-paced walkers who prefer to ease their energy out step by step.

No matter the style, running or walking, each dog gets meaningful mental and physical exercise. Slatmill sessions aren’t meant to replace all other activities, but to complement them as part of a balanced routine.

For dogs who are reactive or easily overstimulated outdoors, these sessions often become their primary safe outlet. We love partnering with dogs and their owners to build healthier habits and happier lives together.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor the lives of those who served our country and are no longer with us. Whether they fell in combat or lost their battle after returning home, their sacrifices remain deeply felt. Our hearts are heavy for the heroes we knew whose lives ended far too soon. May they find peace in Heaven. Til Valhalla.

Our services are perfect for Ricky! He’s a big-hearted pup who thrives on love and attention. He’s reactive to some dogs and cats. Because of this and his size, traditional walks can be tricky. He’s able to get his exercise completed safely in our climate-controlled van. He’s waiting for his forever home or foster. Reach out to Lake Lowell Animal Rescue.

Say hello to Tina! She jumped on the slatmill with total confidence; like a natural. Tina beat distemper as a puppy, though it left her with some neurological challenges in her back legs. Even so, she’s a total sweetheart with so much love to give. She’s currently looking for her forever family at Lake Lowell Animal Rescue.
