HELP US STOCK THE SNACK BAR... FOR THE DOGS!

Nope, we're not planning a staff cookout... although our pups might disagree. 😄

Our canine companions LOVE enrichment time, and two of their all-time favorite treats are:

🌭 Hot Dogs
🧀 Spray Cheese (Easy Cheese or similar)

These simple treats go a long way in helping us:
🐾 Reward positive behavior
🧠 Keep busy minds engaged with enrichment toys and lick mats
💜 Make medical care and training a little less stressful
🎉 Turn an ordinary shelter day into something exciting!

If you'd like to spoil a shelter pup, we'd be so grateful for a donation of hot dogs or canned spray cheese. Every can and every package helps create happier tails and brighter days for the dogs waiting for their forever homes.

Meet Tommy, a sweet 9-year-old gentleman who's ready to enjoy the very best chapter of his life. When his previous owners could no longer care for him, Tommy found himself at the shelter looking for a new place to call home. While he spent much of his life outdoors, now that he's reached his retirement years, he's dreaming of something a little cozier.

Tommy would love nothing more than a soft couch to curl up on, warm sunbeams to nap in, and a family to share quiet moments with. He's a gentle, affectionate boy who truly enjoys the company of people and is happiest when he's receiving a little love and attention. After all he's been through, Tommy deserves a home where he can relax, feel safe, and be cherished every single day.

Tommy is neutered, current on his vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to meet his new family today. If you have room in your heart and home for a wonderful senior companion, Tommy is waiting to make every day a little warmer

🏁 Start Your Engines... Indy Is Ready for the Race of a Lifetime! 🏁

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Forever Family Grand Prix! In Lane 8, we have Indy—a beautiful 8-year-old, 72-pound German Shepherd with one dream: to race straight into the heart of her perfect family!

Every great driver needs a pit crew, and Indy is looking for patient teammates who will cheer her on as she builds confidence. She's a little undersocialized and can be head shy, so she appreciates gentle handling and people who let her go at her own pace. Luckily, her fuel of choice is treats! Indy is wonderfully food motivated, making snacks the perfect way to earn her trust and celebrate every victory along the track.

We recommend a home with kids ages 8 and up who can help keep race day calm and encouraging while Indy settles into her new surroundings.

Before taking the checkered flag, Indy will be spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. All that's left is finding the team she'll cross the finish line with.

So... are you ready to wave the green flag? Because Indy is revved up and ready to race her way into your heart! 🏆🐾

The countdown is officially on, and we are so excited to welcome our community to West Valley Humane Society for an evening full of fun, food, music, games, and shelter-pet support!

It appears our phone system has gone rogue and is currently refusing to do its one job. 😅

We're actively working to get everything back up and running as quickly as possible, but in the meantime, if you've been trying to call us and haven't been able to get through... it's not you, it's definitely our phones.

Every adoption is the beginning of a brand-new story, and hearing how our former shelter pets are doing reminds us why we do what we do. ❤

We recently received this wonderful update from one of our adopters, and it absolutely made our day:

"Hey guys I wanted to give you an update on Banjo (now Azizi) and hadie (now Winnie or Winona) they are coming up on their first year with us and they bonded like bandits. Azizi was absolutely the outgoing loving guy your volunteer said he was and Winnie was scared of new people but Azizi helped her come out of her shell and now she talks and snuggles under blankets. They are truly two peas in a pod. And honestly best little fur babies ever."

💕We can't stop smiling! Knowing that Banjo (Azizi) and Hattie (Winnie) found not only a loving home but also each other is exactly the kind of update that fills our hearts.

Think our shelter is full?

You're only seeing part of the picture! 👀

🐶 132 dogs are currently in our care.
🐱 97 cats are currently waiting for homes.
🐓 1 very important rooster is proudly keeping the flock represented.

But here's the part that surprises most people...

🏡 177 additional animals are currently living in foster homes while they wait for kennel space or continue growing, healing, or getting ready for adoption.

That means...

❤️ We are currently caring for 407 animals!

Every bowl of food, every walk, every litter box cleaned, every medical exam, every cuddle, and every adoption is only possible because of our incredible staff, volunteers, fosters, donors, and adopters.

So the next time you stop by the shelter, remember—you're seeing just one piece of a much bigger rescue effort happening throughout our community.
