Our Large Green, Morton’s Catafornia, had a super positive weekend at his second show ever and first with our girl Lauryn! We are so proud of these two and how relaxed and positive the experience for him was. Thank you Lauryn for the rides and coach Cameron for letting us borrow her 💛

4 year old imported hunter gelding for S only. Recently started showing in the 2’ hunters. He is very personable, has a big step, easy lead change and brave to the jumps.

4 year old jumper gelding for S only. Started showing little jumpers in May. Very sweet, big step, easy lead change, brave to the jumps and has the right amount of brain cells (1) for an amateur to continue.

6 year old large pony gelding, easy measure and very sweet. Has recently started going to shows to hangout. Needs a quiet rider to continue development before he is truly ready for a kid.

L - only available as a training L in barn, will not consider otherwise.

HFF Competitive Advantage Z had a great weekend at the WEC schooling show last weekend. He stepped into the sanctuary with one days practice, up a division height and cruised around with confidence.

How we give a positive introduction to jumping liverpools. This was Mikey’s first time being led over and jumping over them. He was super brave 🥰

as always, thank you to my clients for trusting me with the development of your young horses!

Step one: we use our two circle Liverpool’s to make a shoot for them to flat through. Starting with the Liverpool’s wider and then closing them in.

Step two: walking the horse over the Liverpool on a lunge line. It is very normal for them to be wiggly and unsure about going over it, I use a lunge whip as well to help guide them straight while standing in front and off to the side (in case they jump) - I do this strictly as a straightness tool and not a forward movement tool. You could also use foam rails to make guide rails.

step three : ride time! I personally like to trot them over it first, if your horse needs a little more encouragement, you can absolutely canter it first, I felt pretty confident with this horse that he wouldn’t over jump it from the trot. After trotting it a couple of times I added it into a bending line and just let him quietly canter over it.

Step four : all the praise and cookies!! Encouragement and reward make a big difference, even if you had some difficulties, it is always very important once the Horse does the difficult task correctly that you praise them that they did a good job.
