If you are looking for a powerhouse with loads of personality, then look no farther than Don Antonio! This guy is a barn favorite and boy does he know it. His connections state that he has no vices in the barn or at the farm. They’ve had him since he was a 2 year old, so they know his entire history. He was gelded late, and was a ridgling, so his connections believe that may be where his high level of confidence comes from. He also very much appreciates being spoiled, loving his routine chiro and PEMF treatments.

Our volunteers were wowed by his compact, well-muscled build and his adorable face. It was evident that Don Antonio was used to attention as he ate up our volunteers’ attention and photo taking from every angle. Don Antonio is reported to be injury free. While he can be high energy as many young racehorses can be, he does not offer a buck or rear. For his jog video, while he was a bit up, he remained respectful of his handler, even with horses of the walking machines nearby getting riled up. He stood while his handler placed a lip chain to see if we could get him to focus and show off his lofty, floaty jog. His connections also sent additional videos of him out training on the track so his movement could be better displayed.

Don Antonio is by Gormley, a son of Malibu Moon, who he likely gets his good looks and loads of personality from. Malibu Moon is known for producing quality eventing offspring. He is out of a Sky Mesa mare, who’s offspring have been noted for being athletic and trainable. This good-looking guy is sure to get you noticed in any arena!

SWAY THE JURY 2022, 15.3 h., dk. bay g. Located at the Finger Lakes Race Track in Farmington, NY (near Rochester, NY).

This sweet, kind boy is quiet enough that your granny could jog him. Literally. When we got to his barn, we couldn’t find his trainer, so we placed a call. He’d had to leave for the day, but said, “take him out yourself for photos and video because he’s super sweet and quiet”. So, we did. In his video, our volunteer is a senior-citizen ammy who found him to be a complete gentleman, super willing, polite, and quietly matching her steps on a loose lead. Even though there were distractions on the backside during our session and he was a bit unsure about what we wanted; we found him to be agreeable, attentive, and really trying to do whatever we asked (except drop his head and stretch his neck forward for optimal photos- he seemed immune to our peppermint charms). We thought he was a cute mover with relaxed swinging walk and a springy, rhythmic jog. We liked his intelligent face and kind eye. He does have a slight sway back- our volunteers all have anecdotes about sway back horses that they’ve known- and many of them were great jumpers! For you, it may mean you will have to be diligent about saddle fit (which, in truth, shouldn’t we be with all our horses?). Correct training and nutrition to build topline muscle should also help make this less noticeable.

We were told by his trainer that he is quiet, good to handle, easy to work with, and has no stable vices. That’s exactly what we observed. His trainer says that he is ‘perfectly sound’; we noticed clean, tight legs. But he said racing is “just not his thing”. He’s great during workouts/ gallops, but in the speed and tension of a race, his palate (not his flap) tends to flip over shutting off his airway. We were told that he does not make noise and that this issue should not affect a second career in any other sport (with the possible exception of the highest echelons of 3-day eventing). He is by Vekoma out of a Union Rags mare with Candy Ride and Speightstown also appearing in his pedigree.

He’s a young, kind, no-nonsense horse who is easy to handle, lightly raced (11 starts), and tries hard to please. With a little time and proper training, he could blossom into a much-loved, all-round guy; take him trail riding, do a hunter pace, or let him pack you and/or your kids around local shows. The jury is in… this guy is a good egg!

COZEE MAGIC, 2020, 15.3+ h., ch. m. Located at the Finger Lakes Race Track in Farmington, NY (near Rochester, NY).

Here’s an adorable mare that smashes ALL of the chestnut mare stereo-types! She’s a super sweet, friendly, affectionate, and a total in-your-pocket type of girl! Just as cute as she can possibly be. We were told that she is lovely to handle, has no stable vices, and even keeps the tidiest stall in the barn. And, those of us with muck responsibilities always appreciate the latter! Her handler said that she’s quiet and polite to work with, and that was totally our observation as well. She’s even been turned out on the farm and gets along well with other horses too. Miss Congeniality with both people and horses.

She has a pretty, soft, shiny coat with a golden sheen and the sweetest face. We liked her balanced, compact build and nice topline- she gives the impression that she might be a very versatile athlete who could easily go in any direction for her second career. We were told that she is sound and she even won her race two starts ago. She does have some rounding on her ankles- we were told that they were old and don’t bother her. We put hands-on and found them to be firm, cold, and set. After racing earlier in the week, she displayed a relaxed walk with an overstep and a rhythmic jog with classic “daisy cutter” type movement. She moved quietly beside her handler, working off a loose lead.

And her personality? One of a total love-bug! She seemed to enjoy the attention as our volunteers and shoppers swarmed around her. She chilled out with us for a while- letting us feel her legs, pick up her feet, feed her peppermints, and she very much enjoyed multiple scritches too. Are you looking for a sweet, cuddly girl who loves affection and being groomed? Here she is!

Cozee Magic is by Good Magic (Curlin) with Hardspun and Danzig on her sire side and out of a Cozzene mare (as her name might have suggested to you). Her pedigree suggests she will be an athletic, all-round, good-minded sport horse.

THREE CAPTAINS, 2020, 16.2 h., dk. bay g. Located at the Finger Lakes Race Track in Farmington, NY (near Rochester, NY).

This stunningly photogenic boy has the classic ‘Central Banker face’ and with his well-balanced proportions, you don’t realize how tall he actually is until you stand next to him. We’re told that he’s good in his stall and to work around; his only vice is that, at the track, he can be mouthy with anyone passing by his stall. But we observed a friendly and affectionate horse who enjoyed nuzzling his handler and the volunteers. During his photoshoot, he remained exceptionally chill and polite. We liked the depth of his heart girth and admired his topline. He’s a big, gorgeous, chill horse!

** He raced well in June but during a recent workout, he came back from breezing with a sore knee. No further diagnostics have been done yet, so his connections are offering at a price reflective of this. Interested parties will be carefully scrutinized to ensure that they are qualified, understand the potential commitment, and are willing / able to do the proper assessment, can evaluate the options, and conduct any appropriate rehab that is required. Note: excellent vet references will be required and carefully checked! **

For his video, he walked quietly and politely on a loose rein displaying a relaxed, swinging stride with a nice overstep. We do not have a jog video from our visit to post as we knew that he was sore on his knee. However, we did find a jog snippet from his last race on 06/10/26; we drooled over his light, fluid, and floaty movement. This lovely gelding is a good-looking, big, young, nice moving, and super chill horse and we feel that he is definitely be worth the investment to rehab! That’s if one of our volunteers don’t scoop him up first!

Three Captains is by Central Banker out of a Belong to Me mare with Danzig and Dynaformer also appearing on his distaff side.

What is red and white and big and a flashy, Mr. Fancy-pants all-over? Meet Lago Di Como! From his gleaming chestnut coat with its golden sheen to all the flashy chrome on his legs and face, this is a horse that will get you noticed in any show ring. This beloved homebred was recently gelded; as a three-year old as he was deemed to be getting too heavy to be a racehorse. He certainly is a big, solid, beefy boy- and he is still probably growing! His training staff advised his owner that maybe racing wasn’t really going to be his jam- but the owners wanted to run him at least once and give it a shot. As his trainer quipped, “he’s so cute, I just wish he had (racing) talent”. So, anyhow, after his first start, he’s now looking for a new career… and he will be a fabulous sport horse!

He’s described as being a generally good horse- but because he was (until recently) a c**t, he has never been turned out with other horses so that’s an unknown. He’s described as young, very athletic, and quick- nothing naughty, and nothing that is an issue for an experienced OTTB rider. But he’s probably not the best candidate for a first time, off-the-track restart. We did find him to be quite a cuddlebug during his photoshoot. He’s a giant peacock and also an affectionate goober. We liked his proportions- shorter back, long underline and sloping shoulder. He’s a big, young, athletic horse with solid bone.

For his video, he was relaxed, steady, and polite. We observed a long, sweeping walk with a big overstep and a rhythmic, workmanlike jog.

Lago Di Como is by Snowtrouble (Tapit) with Storm Cat and Blushing Groom appearing on his sire side. He’s out of a Skip to the Stone mare with Halo and Damascus appearing on the dam side of his pedigree.

If you’re looking for a handsome, agreeable, been-there-done-that warhorse, look no further! Here’s a super cute horse with a cute name! We previously met (and fell in love with) him in a prior year as we were listing a stablemate, we’ve followed his career, and were happy to see that it’s now his turn!

He’s a genuinely all-round, really nice boy! We’re told that he is sound, has no stable vices, has clean legs (which we observed), no known injuries, and also that he turns out well in a herd.

He’s had a successful career as a racehorse- 54 starts with a 6-10-11 record and over $209K in earnings. This is a testament to his soundness, durability, and good sense brain! This year, he’s yet to be on the boards and we’re told that he’s just “not interested in running” anymore. But he has great potential for so many other pursuits!

He was very agreeable for his photoshoot, posing easily from the lightest touch of our volunteer’s fingertips. He’s handsome and well put together with powerful hindquarters. His body is balanced and well-proportioned. And that forelock! That face! So cute. At one point our volunteer fumbled the bag of mints and both she and the trainer dropped down to pick them up. Gimmedamoney stood attentively, like a statue, never moving a muscle (even though he was VERY interested in what they were doing)! What a good egg! He then jogged off quietly, displaying relaxed, flowy movement. He’s got the looks, temperament, brain, and movement to be a serious contender for the iron horse award at the RRP Makeover- and we’d certainly love to see him there! But he’s also a seriously cool, very chill, talented horse who would also relish just being your best friend. A cool horse who could do anything, or maybe a little bit of everything? That’s for you to decide.

He’s by the popular sire Central Banker out of a Hook and Ladder mare with Dixieland Band and Cox’s Ridge also making appearances on his dam side pedigree.

Calling all ‘Swifties’! You’ll have a lot of fun coming up with a barn name for this refined, tall, dark, and very handsome boy. Plus, he’ll already have an extensive playlist! Despite his name, Swift Bank has not been as swift on the track as his connections had originally hoped for; they’ve run him a few times with generally mediocre results, so they tell us they’d prefer this young, sound, gorgeous boy to ‘shake it off’ and find a new job. So, who is ready to write a ‘love story’ with a tall, refined, lightly raced (14 starts), friendly, super-smart, and well-mannered young gelding? Here he is!

We’re told that he is typically a good boy with no stall vices or issues; he’s smart and good about everything- whether being ponied, using the Eurociser, in his stall, and he also trailers well. We met him as he was being prepped for a Monday race, he was a tad distracted but polite and easily persuaded to strike some lovely poses once we offered him some peppermints. And he was a friendly cuddlebug when we hung out chatting in front of his stall afterwards.

Did we mention that he is gorgeous? He has an intelligent and pretty face. His long, elegant neck ties into a nicely sloped shoulder. He displayed a confident walk and a springy jog with push from behind. He gave the impression of being nicely forward, polite, balanced, and clever. Bred and trained for the longer distances, we could see him having great eventing potential, but he’s athletic (and certainly pretty) enough to go in any direction that you’d like to take him.

Swift Bank is by the popular Central Banker out of an Anabaa mare with Danzig and Seattle Slew also appearing on his dam side.

An update: as an added bonus, he capped off his race career with a win on 7/27! So, now is the time to say, ‘you belong with me’ and bring him home to be your next show pony!

SOLOMINI’S LEGACY, 2022, 16.1h chestnut gelding

We met a true sweetheart today when this handsome chestnut with the kindest eyes came out of his stall sporting his copper coat and flaxen mane. He walked out on a loose leadline and remained relaxed throughout our visit. He was very happy to visit with us and seemed to enjoy all the attention while remaining as lovable as a golden retriever puppy. (Maybe that’s where the flaxen mane comes from?) He stood for kisses, treats and posing and jogged quietly. He seemed to be an all-around “chill” guy. At just 4 years old it turns out this very sweet guy is looking for his next career because he is simply “as slow as molasses”.

He is by Solomini, son of much desired Curlin, known for their trainability and athleticism, and is out of Bella’s Flare by Bellamy Road, known for offspring with incredible movement and brains. His handler says he is easy to work around in the stall where he is also neat and clean. He has no vices and turns out well in a group. Best of all, he has no “known injuries” with clean legs with lovely feet. His video says it all.

ADDYSON’S DREAM, 2021, 16.3h, bay gelding

If you prefer your horses built like a “moose”, but far, far more attractive than one, Addyson’s Dream is the horse for you! This large, thick guy is a trainer favorite that they just couldn’t say enough good things about. While Addyson is vice free, he can be a bit grumpy with a hard curry. His connections say that this big guy has a big soft spot for women and children but truly is a “people horse”.

Addyson is reported to be very good to ride with no previous injuries. He stood for our photo shoot like a champ, however, would have been far happier crawling into his handler’s lap. He remained respectful of his recently injured handler who had to jog a bit slow himself. He demonstrated his naturally lofty jog and walk with over track, even with a missing hind shoe.

Addyson is by Uptowncharlybrown, who has Grand Slam and Langfuhr lines, which would suggest he will be very amateur friendly and also athletic. He is out of a Lemon Drop Kid mare who’s offspring are also known for their trainability. We can see this very large guy excelling in just about any discipline, and with his remarkably good looks, should kill it in the show ring! Don’t let Addyson’s Dream pass you by!

STELLA BROWN, 2022, 16.1+ h., bay filly. Located at the Finger Lakes Race Track in Farmington, NY (near Rochester, NY).

As you might guess by her name, this pretty and very leggy girl is a daughter of the popular Big Brown. We were told that this filly is friendly and affectionate with her handlers, well-behaved, and “doesn’t do a thing wrong” whether under tack or in her stall. And, during our session, we observed her to be very sweet, professional, and ladylike. She was amenable to posing for us and we thought she was a polite, girly-girl who appreciated affection and especially loved getting scritches from us. We think that she might have been happy to stand there all day! We think that Stella will appreciate being doted on with massages, plenty of scritches, and lots of grooming time!

Stella has a pretty, feminine face attached to a long, elegant neck. She has nice depth through her body and gives the impression of having uphill balance. She does have a scar on her right forearm- we were informed that it was from a pasture fence incident that happened as a yearling but once it healed, we were told that it has never bothered her or affected her soundness.

She moved out quietly for her handler displaying a relaxed, swinging walk with an overstep and jogged politely and respectfully, with floaty, efficient, flat-knee movement much as you would expect from such a leggy girl.

Her current connections said that they claimed her late last year, and although they are fond of her, she hasn’t proven to be much of a racehorse. So, they’ve decided to move her along knowing that such a nice girl should find much greater success in her second career.

Stella is by Big Brown out of a Bluegrass Cat mare with Roberto and Unbridled / Fappiano also appearing in her pedigree. This sweet and pretty filly enjoys being loved on- so if you are someone who enjoys pampering your ponies with ‘spa’ days, this might be your girl. And just think how fun that it will be to yell “Stella!” when you go out into the paddock.
