5 Loaves Farm Creating sustainable market gardens on Buffalo’s Upper West Side that produce healthy foods along with educational and economic opportunities.

For farmhouse rental inquiries, please email [email protected]. 5 Loaves Farm creates sustainable market gardens on Buffalo’s Upper West Side that produce healthy foods along with educational and economic opportunities for neighborhood residents. The lack of healthy foods in what have been called “urban food deserts” is well documented. Just as Jesus’ first followers looked at the hungry masses and humbly offered five loaves of bread and two fish to feed them, we too respond with compassion by bringing our five city lots and two community gardens to feed the hungry. Our spiritual convictions, along with our neighborhood’s vacant land and eager youth, provide the fertile soil needed for this initiative to grow to meet the need.

5 Loaves Farm... ..plants gardens and creates green houses to grow healthy foods...is committed to making healthy foods available and affordable to our neighbors by offering a CSA and seeking to partner with local markets and school lunch programs...donates a portion of its produce to local soup kitchens...is committed to using sustainable growing practices...provides educational programs for adults and school groups..has internship opportunities available for neighborhood youth throughout the year.
