Happy Labor Day Weekend from all of us at Bradford Veterinary Clinic!

As we kickoff this long weekend, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate some wonderful things that happened on our team this week — and give you a little preview of something big coming soon!

First up, a very happy birthday to Jay! 🎂

Jay is one of our amazing administrative assistants and previously served as one of our client relations specialists. She is extremely creative, detail-oriented, and a true team player, and we're so grateful to have her on our team.

We celebrated her special day with a delicious spread of cheesecake, and it was the perfect way to honor everything she brings to our team.

Stay tuned for the other big milestone we recognized... AND we have an announcement coming soon about the growth of our clinic. We can't wait to share it with you! It’s one you’ll certainly want to SHARE too. ❤️

Did you know that we're one of the only veterinary clinics in the area that see poultry birds? That's right!

Waterfowl, quail, turkeys, and of course chickens like our friend Edward!

We can address and treat many common concerns poultry keepers face, such as mites, bumblefoot, and in Edward's case, scissor beak.

Dr. Bedor and our well-trained surgical technicians safely anesthetized Edward so she didn't feel any pain while her beak was trimmed back to begin the slow process of correcting the shape.

Most companies do not make anesthesia masks small enough for our small exotic pets, so we actually use the large dog size to cover their entire head (or even their full body)!

Please pardon our construction dust! This week our parking lot is being repaired to make sure all our clients have a safe place to park for their appointments.

We will remain open during our expected hours, but our parking area is limited.

Additional spaces are available along the side and back of the parking lot near the Senior Center's entrance, but please be careful not to block the dumpsters.

If you need assistance bringing your pet through the parking lot, please just let us know and our staff will be happy to assist!

We’re cooking up something tasty, but we need your help to really make it perfect! 🍂

This fall, we are continuing to raise money for our Pets in Transition fund, which provides lifesaving care for wildlife and lost pets in our area, by putting together a cookbook composed entirely of recipes from our clients and neighbors. 💚

All recipes are welcome, for both human and pet food, and multiple submissions per household are allowed and even encouraged if you have a lot of great things to share!

We are especially looking for recipes from Vermont and New Hampshire natives, but transplants and tourists are welcome to submit too! You do not have to be a client of ours to participate or purchase a cookbook, just care about animals and yummy food!

🍽️ You have three weeks to submit and lock in all of your favorites — think Thanksgiving sides, holiday cookies, or cozy comfort food — so don’t wait too long to share your best recipes!

The deadline for submissions is September 1st so we have time to get the books made before the holidays. 🗓️⏳

August 15th is National Check the Chip Day — but here at Bradford Veterinary Clinic, we're kicking off the celebration a little early!

📅 This Thursday, August 13th, schedule and come in for:
✅ FREE microchip scanning for all pets
✅ Waived office visit fee for microchip installation if your pet doesn't have one yet

Microchips only work if they're registered and up to date — if you've moved, changed your number, or just aren't sure your info is current, this is the perfect chance to check.

Spaces are limited! ⚠️ To help us keep the schedule full and efficient, please book our latest available appointment times first, and work backward from there.

🎉 We wrapped up the week with a DOUBLE celebration!

Yesterday we celebrated two amazing team members hitting big milestones: Jen, one of our incredible client relations specialists, celebrated 6 years with us, and Makayla, one of our dynamic veterinary assistants, celebrated her 1 year anniversary!

We toasted with strawberry shortcake and a little boost of caffeine ☕🍓 because you can’t celebrate hard work without some sugar and caffeine to match the energy!

📢 Important Announcement 🐾🐢🦜

We want to give you a heads up: this Thursday, we will not have any doctors in the building, and several members of our staff will also be out on an educational field trip, learning and growing so we can continue providing you and your pets with the best care possible!

But don’t worry — we’re not going anywhere! Our remaining staff will still be here and happy to help with phone calls, food pickups, and pre-scheduled technician and grooming appointments. We’re always here for you and your pets. 💛

If you think you’ll need any prescription refills, please give us a call today so we can get those taken care of ahead of time. As always, thank you for trusting us with your pets — we appreciate you!
