☀️SUMMER 2026☀️

Here are the tentative plans for Hay River Riding this summer, as lessons are not a daily plan(read previous post for more info.)!

Renting Arena Use:
** This will be hourly, for a very small price
- Get a group together and come ride!
- Come by yourself and have a freshly dug arena to yourself!
- Bring a club, team, etc, and have a practice!

Sport Nights:
**Based on interest and with personal horses hauled in
- Goat tying practices
- Breakaway practice(on dummy only)
- Obstacle course in the arena

Kids Camps:
** Once a month, kids camp per usual and potentially an overnight campout(will be based on age)
- Kids' day camps based on past events for younger ages, trying to learn!
- Potential opportunity for middle-aged kids overnight camp to learn, tell stories, and be with horses!

Fun Shows:

** Bring your horses and kids for a few fun events!
- Chance to enter in fun events
- Meeting new horse friends
- Getting horses introduced into new scenery

What is available within useage of the arena:
- Breakaway dummy
- Goat tying dummy, potentially goats
- Barrels(4)
- Cones, ground poles, etc...
- Obstacle course supplies
- Trails
- Extra ropes, goat strings, etc!!!

Hi everyone 💛

I have some bittersweet news to share. After a lot of thought, I have decided that I will not be offering summer riding lessons this year.
As many of you know, I am focusing on taking the next steps in my career beyond college, which requires more of my time and attention. On top of that, Cutter — my main lesson horse and the heart of so many of our rides — has ringbone. Because of this, I am no longer able to use him the way I have in the past. His comfort and long-term soundness come first, always.
I am so incredibly thankful for every family and rider who trusted me to teach, encourage, and share the love of horses with them. Watching so many of you grow in confidence and skill has meant more to me than you know.
Although I won’t be offering lessons daily like the past years, I will still be involved in other horse-related events and opportunities. I am hoping to have "pop- up" lessons, and haul in lessons are always welcome too— so stay tuned! This is not goodbye, just a new change in my daily availability.

What a FANTASTIC kids club yesterday!🦄🩷

It was a hot, sticky day but all of these kids rocked through it and had a blast!! We worked on leading, safety, desensitizing, went through obstacle courses, crafts on the horses and off!

🩷🦄ITS HERE🦄🩷

June 21st, 2025- 10am to 1:30pm
- It will be helpful to arrive slightly early around 9:45 to get a waiver signed.
I am so excited to see all the girls this Saturday and enjoy some pony time!

INFORMATION:
⭐️I will have lots of water for the hot day!
⭐️I will have a bathroom and spot with AC for any circumstances that arrive
⭐️We will take breaks and have a “snack” time
⭐️The schedule of events will be listen in the comments
REMINDERS:
☀️It is going to be HOT, so it is totally okay to wear shorts.
☀️Please wear closed toed shoes

This evening I had a 13 year old girl tell me about a dream she had, being here and riding horse. This same girl skipped a concert to come to riding lessons tonight!
^^^That is one example to why every evening spent with horses and kids is worth it, everyone deserves to find something that drives them to be better❤️

This summer of lessons has been nothing less than amazing so far✝️

“Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”☺️, isn’t that what we are supposed to say?

Here at Hay River Farms, I truly cannot be anymore grateful. From the friends and family that make it all happen to the kids that have the most contagious smiles!

A night like tonight makes for all the more reason to doing this every day. Teaching younger kids to have a love for horses and being outdoors is simply the greatest feeling.💕
