"Home At Last Dog Rescue was founded in North Wales PA, in 2008 as an all age, all dog breed, Dog Rescue. We are a group of dog-loving volunteers whose goal is to save the lives of homeless dogs suffering in high-kill shelters, puppy-mills, as well dogs in other unfortunate circumstances. We are not a shelter, thus we have no central location for the dogs we rescue. It is through volunteer foster homes, mostly located in the Greater Philadelphia, PA Region that we are able to provide homes for our dogs. Our dogs remain in foster homes until they are matched and adopted into the right home. In doing this, we hope to provide an alternative to the purchase of breeder and pet store dogs as well as prevent dogs from entering the overwhelmed shelter system or get into the wrong hands."

TGIFF! Let's zoomie into the weekend with a Furever Friday story! This week's pawsitive pupdate is submitted by Jennifer, featuring her pup Lili! 🐾

"We are avid dog owners but never had a Rottweiler. My hubby just adores them and I figured after 30 years of marriage it's time to get one. And that's how Rosalyn came into our lives, thanks to HAL.

Rosalyn is now Lili Von Shtup, who's name came from a German show girl character from an old movie. And she lives up to her nickname, the German Bombshell.

Born with a heart murmur and leaky valves, we knew this 18lb 10 week old girl was going to have the best life we could give her. Our adoption on 12/20/25 was an early Christmas present that just keeps on giving to us.

She's now 66 lbs. and is a big goof ball. Her big brother Maverick (Bernedoodle) wasn't sure of her at first but has welcomed her into our clan and protects her.

She is a bed hog and loves her daily walks. She will never turn down a car ride to home depot or Petsmart, and is always looking for attention from humans. Her loving personality is changing people's views that Rottweilers are mean. She's a love bug through and through!

Okay, so I know I’m not a Cane Corso or a Pomsky… apparently, that’s what it takes to go viral around here. 😂👀 But I PROMISE I have just as much love to give!

My name is Hope. I’m a 3-year-old, 43-pound Staffie mix, and let me tell you, I am NOT short on personality. I’ve got energy to burn, a heart full of love, and enough kisses for a lifetime. 💕

I am:

✅ House, crate & leash-trained

❓ Dog-selective

✅ Good with kids (12+)

My ideal day? Play hard, get my exercise in, show off a few tricks, and then smother my favorite human in affection. I learned sit, down, and shake pretty quickly because, yes, I’m got beauty AND brains. 😉 Give me structure and a routine, and I’ll show you my very best self!

Now, I do have a few requests. I’d like to be your one and only pet. I can pass dogs on walks just fine, but living with them full-time? Not for me. Older kids are best because I love people with my WHOLE BODY. I missed Dog 101 on "personal space". 🤷‍♀️

I'm ready for bed promptly at 9:00pm and sleep like a baby in my crate at night. 😴

As long as you're home often so we can hang out and are looking for a whole lotta dog love, I think we should meet!

Their world was turned upside down. 💔

A HAL foster home that opened her doors to many of our dogs who need to be the only pet in the home has suffered a devastating house fire. We’re incredibly grateful our HAL dogs are safe, but they are now displaced through no fault of their own.

This foster gave these dogs something incredibly special: a chance. She welcomed dogs who need extra patience and understanding.

You met Noodle, Mally and Millie. Now meet Sinatra.

Sinatra is a 7-year old Lab mix. He spent most of his life living in a home so knows the ropes! He's a bit shy when first meeting people, but once he warms up (which is quickly!), he'll be your best friend forever. Sinatra is great with older kids and cats, he just needs a person or people who will help him be confident in himself (because he's worth it!).

Maybe you’ve been thinking about adopting. Maybe you’ve been waiting for the right time... maybe that time is now, and maybe the dog is Sinatra.

We’ll keep sharing more of the displaced dogs in the coming weeks. Each one deserves the chance their foster gave them—and someone willing to believe in them.

At Home At Last Dog Rescue, we do approximately 15–20 LOADS OF LAUNDRY EVERY SINGLE DAY! 😳

That’s 105–140 loads a week and roughly 5,500–7,300 loads a year! 🤯

Between blankets, towels, bedding, and everything else that comes with caring for rescue dogs, our washing machines are practically begging for a vacation!
�Unfortunately, our laundry detergent disappears faster than treats at a dog party!�

We interrupt your social media feed with an impawtent announcement...TGIFF! Let's kick off the weekend with a pawsitive pupdate from Sarah, featuring her pup Finn! 🐾

"On May 9, 2023 I adopted Finn, formally known as Sinai. He is the first dog I have ever owned and he has taught me so much since I adopted him. Finn is energetic and sweet; and because he’s part husky, he has a whole communication system depending on the different barks and sounds he makes. During the week we do nose work and he participated in his first competition in June. He also took his therapy dog test. I couldn’t imagine living life without him. In the summer he loves to flop in the grass and soak up all the sun or go for car rides to get pup cups at Dairy Queen. He loves going to new places and trails to explore and sniff. Sometimes he likes to take his toys for walks with him. I’m so thankful for HAL for rescuing him and connecting me with my soul dog!"
